Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I've been having a more difficult time with scoring anything at Target lately. Usually I give up during the Holiday season as the stores get packed with shoppers and I live in a highly populated area (Northwest suburbs outside Chicago). Less games get put out, more people get wise to looking for them, etc etc.

So I don't expect to find much, especially on a Wednesday. But during a stop yesterday I found the last copy of Prototype (360) for $9.99 just staring at me. Downside was that someone ripped the plastic and it looks like some Target employee sealed it up with clear packing tape....got some nasty residue on the box near the UPC. But I opened it up and everything looks good.

This was at the Schaumburg Target....not usually a place that doesn't get wiped out completely. But I'll take it.
target in so. cal are not very good lately. disappointed.
I'm not disappointed only because I think Targets in SoCal are never very good.

Saw 2x Bakugan Battle Brawlers (360) for $12.48 at Deer Valley, AZ Target. 3-4x Biggest Loser (DS) for $13.98 and that was about it.

I saw the weirdest thing today at the Target game isle . There was a lady wearing a BRIGHT blue collared shirt with the logo of " nintendo " . I wander if she actually worked for Nintendo because she organizing all the DS accessories and all the Wii accessories ??

You do know that you can buy shirts with NINTENDO on it right? Just cause you wear one doesn't mean that work for them. Did she have an id badge around her neck?
+1 on the So Cal targets sucking.
Disagree. You just have to find the stores that aren't the regular haunts of hoarders and greedy soccer moms. There are several LA area stores that consistently provide everything I am looking for at the 75% level. The same goes for several stores in San Diego when I visit on weekends.

I got Guitar Hero Smash Hits for $9.98 (360) at an Orange County Target on Monday (3 left). What I saw THIS week at the 3 stores I checked out...

Fight Night 4 (360) is at $10 (maybe 5 copies left)
Ghostbusters PC was down to $5
Bakugan was under $10 I think (could care less).
Saw Shaun White last week, I think they are gone now.
Singstar Queen is at $10 now.

RE5 sold out at $20 (2 copies), never made it lower, or someone stashed/bought them.
Would have paid $10, but I skipped it and will wait for the Gold edition to clearance :)
Last saw 10+ Guitar Hero Metallica at $20, strangely they are all gone (ebay hoarder I'm sure), I would have bought at $10.
Saw 1x MUA2 for $30 last week, not there this week.

Lego Rock Band still hanging at $25. I will pick it up >$12.50. Old Navy has it 50% off = $20.

The deals are there, but the GOOD games tend to sell out when they hit $20 rather than making it down to $15, $12.50, $10, unless they have a LOT of copies or the game is crap. I've never seen anything for consoles less than $7.50 around here except shovelware (read Wii/DS).

This would be a Nintendo rep. Each of the video game companies have people that go from retailer to retailer checking on stock, setting up displays and updating the demo discs you can play.

Got a copy of Midnight Club: LA Complete Edition for 360 yesterday, though really hoping for PS3 version.

On another note, I saw God of War III yesterday at one of the Target that I went. Almost got it too...:D

My local target (fairfeild nj) has been empty for weeks now. They only have a few pc games. They don't even have the cheap non red tag games that are not in the cases anymore. I wonder what happened?

I am so sad today. So I have been checking the Target at Lennox in Columbus, OH waiting for GH: Metallica to drop to 9.99. Went there every Monday the last month like a habit. No drop. The 4 copies stayed there just staring me in the face. Went last Monday; no drop. Went there today to pick up a couple things for the wife and walked thru the vg clearance rack. It was cleaned out. All 4 copies of GH: Metallica for PS3 were gone. Talk about upset! I was smoking out my ears.
If someone in the Columbus area reading this wants to sell me a copy of it, that would be awesome. Many thanks.
WAIT, Band Hero bundle is $50??!
In my area for almost two weeks. Good luck finding one now.

Got the following today in Highlands Ranch, CO:

Bigs 2 PSP 2.54 (The Holy Grail of 87.5% off!)
Lego RB XBOX 12.48
FNR4 XBOX 9.98

Oddly, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for XBOX and Prototype for XBOX, both ones clearanced all over, are full price at this Target. Also saw some PS2 games that have been clearanced elsewhere at full price.

Oopsss.. finally my wallet can take a break in a couple of weeks, I don't see too many games of clearance right now, just a couple of PC games and Tiger Woods Xbox 360 $29.98.

I would probably take a break, come back soon...

But... that's not weird at all. It's called a vendor. They come in, make sure the product is stocked and available, then they leave. This is true for Nintendo, it's true for Microsoft, it's true for Coke and Pepsi.

At Northgate Seattle store, we have multiples ofFight Night and Smash Hits for the 360 at 9.98. I'd grab Smash Hits, but I realize that even Rock Band, which I truly like, I haven't played in about 6 months, with the exception of when the Phoenix tracks hit.

The Greenville, NC store had white X360 wired controllers for $19.98 last night. (2 left)

Checked out two targets the other day since I was down in the area. Pretty much nothing at either one. One had nothing, but a GTA IV Liberty City Story's guide that I grabbed for a dollar but it was marked as an "online item" not a clearance. And both of them still had the xbox verison of the game priced at 39.90 which I was hoping it was not. The only things I found at the other store were 3 xbox copies of Transformers 2 game stashed away by someones. Two of them were just hiding behind some other games. I don't condone stashing, but the third one was actually stashed away behind a couple of gallons of milk in a cooler. That made me laugh so much I just left them be.

Something off subject though, didn't we have a target clearance trading thread or something in the trading forum at one time? I tried looking for it but came up empty.

Tried 3 area Targets and came up empty for both the 360 Lego Rock Band and Gears of War II (actually, the Clearance endcaps were universally empty of video games save for some PC titles). There are a couple more in the area to check, but I'm not really holding out much hope at this point.

Went to a Target that i went to Monday suspecting that :ps3: Midnight Club would drop to $7.48... When they scanned it Monday, it still said $14.98... When I walked through there on Tuesday, all 7 copies they had were gone. Today, I went by to check Auto stuff and Lo and Behold, there was a MC marked $14.98... Scanned at 7.48 :) Thanks to whomever hid it and didn't go back to get it :)

You mean the one linked at the bottom of the OP? ;)

my local target is remodeling and sure enough, some stuff that i thought has been long gone has started to show up on the shelves....and they are not even half way done.

cutler ridge, fl.....
target in so. cal are not very good lately. disappointed.
Like I said before, the GAME deals are a BORE now... I don't anticipate at least another 2 weeks for something actually good on clearance again

Target is NOT selling God Of War 3 CE right? That would push MORE games out of the case if that's the case. They either go backstock or get clearanced out...

I saw that :ps3: Prototype was on clearance; 27.98 down from 39.99. I'd like to catch that at 9.98, if it makes it all the way down.

Spotted :ps3: SW: Clone Wars RH and :ps3: Prototype today at 30% off.

Picked up Batman: AA :pc: at $12.48 just to work on my GFWL collection!
I guess I am the first to find the Bioshock 2 CE PC on clearance :) $56.00. Slip cover was kind of beat up, but otherwise in decent shape.
Actually, you're the second - but everyone called the first guy a liar, so that will likely happen to you, too, unfortunately.

I believe that's sighting number two.

Lego Rockband $15
Guitar Hero Smash Hits $10 (I paid $5 because of the GH 5 coupon)
Fight Night 4 $10

Came out to $30 so $10 each. Not bad if you ask me

....it's always the last place you look isn't it? Thanks.

All I can find is Batman AA PC for $12.50. I did find Ghostbusters PC for $5 but didn't get it since I probably wouldn't play it. Did manage to find MLB 09 The Show at walmart for $20 since Target and everyone else seems to think it's still worth $40
I've yet to seen Bioshock 2 PC CE at anywhere but BB at any price. :p
Seriously, haven't seen one at 5 Targets. They're slowly migrating to unicorn territory for me.

Stopped by the Jersey City store today, a place I never have any luck with. Seems like they were remodeling, because a bunch of stuff was in different places, and there was a sign outside about being open during construction. Anyway, I couldn't even find an electronics or video games clearance section, but in the aisle where they have the "budget" games, I found a bunch of Lego Rock Bands for the 360 marked at $25. They did ring up at $12 and change, though. I took a couple and left a couple. Enjoy my Hudson County CAGs.

Good to know bigdaddybruce. I don't know about you, but the Targets here suck at deals lol. The one in Edgewater has the $20 wired Xbox 360 controllers though. I am going to try the North Bergen one as it is closer, if I don't have any luck I'll head on over to JC thanks!
