Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I picked up Dragon Age UE today in Davenport, Iowa for 14.98. There's one left after i picked up a copy. I was hoping to find the Fable III CE but I had no luck. The tracker says there's a store with a limited availability, but the game was nowhere to be found. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed with that, but at least I didn't go home empty handed.
The Target in Hawthorne, CA has one last copy of Fable III CE for $19.98. It's in the PC game section behind Where's Waldo? Good luck.
Thanks for the tip emg, I went to that Target this afternoon and it was still there.

It's always a nice break from SD to come over here and see everyone being so nice and helpful to each other.

Just a suggestion: other than it being down, the DCPI or whatever checker has never done me wrong, whereas the ASIN one can be hit or miss.

Complete opposite for me...75% of the stores around me show Fable 3 LE in stock when I know only two stores had one copy each two weeks ago and none last week.

Interesting. I've checked for the LBP/DS3 bundle and it says that several stores around me have it. But I've been to these with no luck unless someone hid these bad boys in a storage ottoman or behind the frozen vegetables in the freezer...

fuck! I went back to the Target that had the last 2 Fable 3 CE in the OKC metro area and both are gone. fuckfuckfuck. Why couldn't they wait to clearance this shit til after Christmas.

Sadly this is becoming a holiday tradition, as last year I missed out on 19.98 MW2 Hardened Edition. Sigh.

If anyone sees a Fable 3 CE at 19.98, do a brother a favor and snag it for me. I'll pay up to 40-45 for it.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their continued contributions and support of this thread and apologize for my rant of December 20, 2010. Guess I was having a bad day and reading several insipid posts kinda aggravated me...

Seriously, hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and all that!!!

Now to find me a Fable III and DAO:UE both of which are "AVAILABLE" according to the
DPCI stock locator!!

Sometimes RANTS are needed. When I first came to this site I posted something before reading the OP on a thread. I got told not to post ? there but to take it to another thread. Now I just read the OP and then search the threads. I learned my lesson on posting before reading OP.

Glad the RANT wasn't directed toward me.

Have a good holiday everybody!
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their continued contributions and support of this thread and apologize for my rant of December 20, 2010. Guess I was having a bad day and reading several insipid posts kinda aggravated me...

Seriously, hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and all that!!!

Now to find me a Fable III and DAO:UE both of which are "AVAILABLE" according to the
DPCI stock locator!!
any of you Houston area CAGs that are spying that lone 'Limited Availability' of Fable 3 CE at the Copperfield location, don't bother, it rings up as $79.99, strangely it never clearanced there and has been sitting in in the glass case area w/ the consoles. Found that out on my half hour extended lunch break

If anyone is trying Dallas or Dallas area Target's don't bother. I went to 6 different stores and all were cleaned out. Hardly any clearence left and all that was there were Backbreaker for $20 or Wolfenstien for $25.

No fable 3 CE's in sight. I picked up Dragon Age Ultimate for $15 at one but got last copy.

thanks for the continued maintenance of the thread. definitely one of the most useful on the forums and I'm sure one of the most time consuming to maintain. it's appreciated.

now everyone tell me how much Fable III sucks so I don't feel bad for missing out on the cheapo CE.

Thanks for all of your great work keeping this thread up brother!

Happy holidays to everyone here and all of those that contribute throughout the year.

The DPCI lookup is fantastic. Unfortunately, it's a damn zoo out there. I just got back from running some errands and it's crazy out there. Nobody is at work so they're all out on the road and shopping. I'll stay out of retail places until MLK day.

Be sure to pick me up a copy! ;)

Does anyone know of any B&M stores that carry Fable III CE? I was hoping to pick one of these up cheap as a gift, but i'm desperate now and just need a copy :)

Good luck finding a copy at this point. Your only chance is if you find one that was not marked. With the crazy Holiday shoppers out there doubt anywhere still has Fable 3 CE for $20 out in the open.

Has anyone had any luck finding Dragon Age UE on clearance in the Phoenix area? I have been to 4 targets and they are all 60! This is getting frustrating :(

IDK man, I think it's a myth, or only applies to the northern states (and Cali I think someone reported) First, I haven't even seen a DA:O UE at any retail store period. Second, I have never seen it on clearance, at any price, at 6 different Target's I've been to since last week.

I have been to two different local Target's around my area and both of them had copies of DA:O UE for $29 I believe, may have been $27. So there are copies it is just a matter of continuously searching for them and not checking once and assuming they are never going to be there.

The blood dragon armor code for ME2 that comes with the DA:O UE, does it get you anything for DA:O also?

I have not tried mines yet.

All I have to say is "All targets in Houston area=Pure TRASH!!" Games are always full price when they should be on clearance, as soon as they do go on clearance=instantly gone, Unless it's Backbreaker or some garbage game. TRASH!!!

I got Dragon Age for 14.98 in Merritt Island, FL. I'm still stunned. My target NEVER has anything good on clearance, and if they ever do, it's long gone before it reaches a decent price. I've been following this forum for years, and this is literally the first Target clearance game I've ever picked up.

Cheap? Don't hold your breath. I don't think it even exists cheaper than 70 online, and those copies might be used.

You must not hit the right Targets because 75% of my luck of finding any Target clearance stuff comes out of Houston.

Did you go to the Meyerland location? I just came back from there and saw DA:UE but for $59.99. I bet it's at other stores, it hasn't hit the clearance cycle yet.

I'm with Will on that one. It's time to travel further than the Targets around you. You'll never find something good on clearance when you go just to 1 or 2.

...I picked up the Fable 3 CE today (Target Montford & LBJ) for $19.xx, only had one tho. Also picked up DAU PS3 for $14.xx at the Target by DFW at 121 yesterday. Other than that, not much out there.

Merry Christmas & Happy Hunting everyone! :)

ha! no, I haven't been by that one..thanks for pointing that out, guess it will have its time.

fuck Yeah!!!! Scored 2 copies of Fable III CE today for $19.98 + tax each...

This thread rules! And that DPCI lookup in the OP is pretty darn sweet. First time using it today....The locator said that there was "Limited Availability" at my local Target so I went and looked and couldn't find them anywhere, thought maybe El Stasho had been hiding one somewhere so I politely asked a FEMALE employee with a Scanner on her to check the stock in the store. I gave her the DPCI number and she said there were 2!

She asked me if they "looked like a book?" I said yes and she knew exactly where they were!!!...they were locked up in the compartment below the games that are in the plastic prison and were totally out of view so you may want to check there if your store still indicates "Limited Availability"

I've got one copy to spare so check the Target Clearance Trading Thread for my asking price ;)

EDIT: It was a zoo out there but ended up being totally worth it!

Love love love the DCPI scanner (and I got over there before your post went up and was wondering if you lied about getting rid of the spare just to fuck with us :p )

I visit the northwest, north, and northeast suburbs mostly as they are close. Guess I'll have to start driving into the city. The woodlands location has good clearance but literally the day any decent game goes on clearance they are all gone. DA: UE is still 59.99 everywhere.
Love love love the DCPI scanner
Indeed, the old scanner had not worked for me in months. This one compelled me to travel too far for a deal during lunch hour, but I sullenly resisted the temptation.

Thanks to this DCPI locator I was able to get a DA: UE for the $14

So happy. Kind of bitter that I missed out on Fable 3 it looks like someone bought the one I was going to go get then returned it at my local shop today to rebuy (since this one had it marked down the other one did not)

Still happy though

Where exactly was this? I have a store that says 'limited availability' that I might hit up tomorrow.

Ugh. I've been hitting up Target... but either there is nothing left but 20 copies of Backbreaker or the prices are still crazy high... like DAUE for $60.

I'm going to have to stop for a bit.

My face when: I finally found one of the last remaining copies of DAO:UE in my area, after hitting a Target that "didn't have it" when I called earlier.

:whee:

I believe a few nonsensical expletives ("holy fuckballs!") were shouted in joy and/or surprise.

Was hoping to give an update from my local target last night, unfortunately they no longer have a clearance end cap at my local in Apple Valley MN.... Bummer.

Are you talking Apple Valley or Apple Valley South? Because Apple Valley def still has clearance games, least they did 2 days ago. In fact that's were I got GTA episodes. They are mixed in with the regular games. (360 games almost never make it to the end cap that they at least used to have) Haven't been to south in a couple of weeks but they usually have the biggest selection in the area so I'd be surprised if they were completely cleaned out.

I picked up Fallout 3 GOTY for $19.98 Tuesday. 207-22-0486 in San Jose. The clearance sticker says $27.98, but when it was scanned it showed up with a lower price.

I've been to all the Targets all around the Bay area and I cannot for the life of me find Fable 3 CE and DA:UE.
Thanks for the tip emg, I went to that Target this afternoon and it was still there.
No problem. I'm glad it was picked up by a CAG.

Much to my sadness, all of the DAO:Ultimate Editions had been hoarded, but while finishing my shopping in sorrow, i came across hidden loot :D. Someone's gonna be pissed when they realize thier Uncharted 2 (9.99) and Dragon Age Origin's (7.49) are gone.

Funniest part was i found them hidden behind some boxes of Trix cereal

Yeah, they've been gone awhile ... at least in the case of the Fable 3 CE ... I think most of them disappeared when it hit $55 and one or two that were left were gone by the afternoon of the day of the drop ... I was looking too and there's nothing ... well, except the East SJ store that shows limited availability but has nothing.

And for some reason, Dragon Age didn't drop around here, didn't even go on sale. I know a few Targets that have a decent supply but they were never clearanced. Actually, one Target in particular has a ton of games on the clearance list that are full price and are thrown in a stack in the games section. Might want to keep an eye on that one for the future ...

Went to a store with limited availability to pickup a Fable 3 CE and couldn't find it. At the cash register the dude behind me had it in his hands. :(

Got lucky at a 3rd Target yesterday. Found :ps3: DAO:UE and :360: Fable 3 CE.

They also had 2 copies of Fallout 3: GOTY collection, which I passed on since I had already gotten it for $20 at Sears months ago.

Sorry. Our inventory information system is unavailable right now. We are working on the problem and should have it corrected shortly. Please check back soon to try your search again.

Does this mean it's out of stock or that the database is down?
