Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I went to my Target and what I saw was
:ps3: The Sly Collection $14.98
:ps3:Split Second $14.98
:ps3:Battlefield Bad Company 2 $19.98

I picked up The Sly Collection but anybody recommend me Split Second and BFBC2 at that price?
Split Second is an excellent SP experience for that price.

Picked up MvsC3 Special Edition 360 for $34.98...nice.

Lots of PS3 games at 50% off...Vanquished, Split Second, SSFIV, Fung Fu Rider, MAG, Monopoly, Battlefield Bad Company 2, from what I remember.

Stafford, VA had a 120 GB PS3 for $209.98, but the seal is broken and it has been taped up. They also still have one or two 160 GB Killzone PS3's that work with the $60 GC offer and $100 GC coupon that is randomly printing up at their registers when you buy a DVD/Bluray.

Target clearance made a big comeback at Irvine Spectrum (CA) store.
Picked up Sly Collection for $14.98, and Buzz bundle for 13.98.
I saw two X360 copies of MVC3 CE, and the following as I recall:
PS3
Monopoly Streets $20
Family Game Night $20
Vanquish $15
Split Second $15
Super SF4 $15
MAG $15
Killzone 2 $15
Resistance 2 $10
Kung Fu Rider $10
X360
madden 10 $15
Saints Row 2 pack $20

After at least 6 weeks absence, looks like they're trying to catch up all at once. I exercised restraint. Didn't want to blow my load here with the BBV sale coming up tomorrow.

Damn, drove by a Target today but I figured why bother since it was barren last week and it seems like they're dropping everything.
If any of you get the DPCI for SSFIV/Super Street Fighter IV/4, could you please post it?!

Thanks!
Here's the PS3 version, from the OP:

[207-24-0350] Super Street Fighter IV

Don't know the # for the 360 version.

Picked up Flingsmash for 19.99, and a 160GB PS3 with $160 in gift cards thanks to ChunLiBarbie!

Ran out to see if I could score Bad Company 2 for $14.98 but it was $27.98... =(

Also saw Resistance 2 for $9.98 like the guy above. Then I went to check out the fabled clearance booze and forgot all about video games XD

$14.98 seems like an inaccurate clearance price for Bad Company 2. Saw it for :ps3: at 30% off ($27.98).
Here's the PS3 version, from the OP:

[207-24-0350] Super Street Fighter IV

Don't know the # for the 360 version.

Picked up Flingsmash for 19.99, and a 160GB PS3 with $160 in gift cards thanks to ChunLiBarbie!
PERFECT! I forgot to type 'For PS3'!

Thank You! :D

Yeah, guy probably just messed up his post or remembered wrong.

The Target I work for dropped a bunch of the same titles you all are talking about. Super SF4 PS3 for $14.98, Resistance 2 for $9.98, and the one I picked up, Vanquish on 360 for $14.98. I didn't even think to have a closer look for you guys. Sorry.
I have the same problem at mine. There's a few employees I've begun to recognize and will actually wait until they leave the area because they make me feel uncomfortable enough. What's worse is I usually have a giant double stroller with a 15m old and a 5m old in it so I'm kind of hard to forget.

I've made a fuss a couple times about not being able to find items that were showing up as in stock...but the employees I hate weren't even there that day. I know they hoard stuff for themselves at this store though so they probably just eye anybody who's shopping clearance at all there.
As for your comments JKSonic, the employees can technically be fired for saving product for themselves. Though I'm assuming everyone in the department and price change is in on it and the managers don't know about it. If that's not the case, the item on-hand counts could be off. The system doesn't update itself until the next day. So if two sell, than throughout the whole day it will still say there are two. It could also be that the items are sitting in the backroom yet to be marked as clearance. Clearance items generally get pulled from the backroom and sit around until the price change team can mark it(items on the floor take precedence over those in the backroom). That would be why they don't show up as having a location in the backroom. After they're marked they sit around again until someone has the time to push it out to the department it goes to.

Not saying you're wrong about them withholding product, just letting you know of why the on-hand counts may say they have something and it not be on the floor or have a location in the back.

One of my Targets put a ton of Western Digital portable external 500gb drives on clearance at $34.98, all 10-15 of them got wiped out within a couple days, now my other Target had them down to $49 yesterday, hopefully they dropped today, if I get it for $34 I'll post the DCPI (I don't know if this has already been mentioned, I haven't been keeping up)

Also, a small few games already mentioned but with higher prices.
Picked up a Sly Collection for $14.98, there was only one copy and I wasn't convinced it would last to 75% off.
Any chance you have the DPCI for that?

Picked up sly collection 14.xx
Buzz PS3 9.xx

saw Marvel vs Capcom Limited Edition 360 34.xx, but the box was damaged :(
Saints Row 1 & 2 pack 360 50% off
Vanquish 360 50% off

Please do, I've been looking for a hard drive for the longest now for a decent price.

I picked up Marvel vs. Capcom 3 SE for 360 for 34.98 as well. Very nice.

I saw most of the PS3 games for the prices you mentioned too but passed on them.

I might have to tell a friend about the PS3 deal. I knew about the $100 GC coupon but didn't know about $60 one, will they give you both?

are there two types of WD portables? The passport in the green box and the other ones in the white box with the black, green, red and yellow stripes on the bottom? what color box was it?

Actual good games on clearance at Target? To try my local store or not. I think it's been 3 weeks of pure disappointment. I miss the days when I could actually find things to buy. :(

It's cool, I hope you didn't take that as an insult =) I'll take your word for it.

$60 GC is only for 160 GB PS3's...I got a Killzone 3 160 GB PS3 bundle and got the $60 GC and used the coupon to get an additional $100 GC. So far the system is allowing both promo's to go through. Lots of speculation going around whether this will work with the BLOP 160 GB PS3 bundle that is supposed to come out tomorrow.

Went to my local target in granada hills, california and i picked up the last slycooper. I went to the clearance section which usually contains cheap ipod/ipad accessories but the whole area was filled with 360 and ps3 games like the ones mentioned. Saw a couple killzone2, bc2 for 19.xx and a bunch of vanquish/ last guardian for 15 i believe. Also saw naughty bear for 25 lol

My Target's video game clearance has been wiped out completely, save for one PS3 on clearance at the first level (15%?) down from $299.99 I believe.

I got one of those $100 gift card coupons for if you purchase a PS3, but I did the math and buying the one on clearance now with the $100 GC and the $60 GC is no cheaper than if Sony just drops the PS3 price to $199.99 at E3.

Just got back from getting SSFIV for $14.98!!!!! YAY!!!!:D

Well, seeing as how you will be paying $240+, if you get insurance, you will be paying more. If I total out mine, I paid $180($340 and got $160 in GC) and that includes a 3 year warranty. I guess it depends on if you want to buy it now or wait and 'HOPE' for a $100 price drop.
Why is everybody else's Target so cool? :(
All of this has gone or will go on clearance at your store, as long as it's not sold out. The only real exception is CE/LE stuff. Most of the stuff mentioned here is either long gone for me or still on the shelves at full price. Just be patient :)

I don't know anything about extended warranties/insurance for PS3s and the costs for them, but I assume it has nothing to do with how much you actually pay for the PS3. Is it not a fixed cost whether you pay $299 or $199 for the thing? Sony's PlayStation Protection Plan says $44.99 for one year or $59.99 for two years. It appears to have absolutely nothing to do with how much you pay for the system.

My calculation was based on the current clearance price in my area plus tax minus the $160 GCs and its just cents different than a $199.99 PS3 plus tax minus the $100 GC.

Or in other words, its either spend $277.30 after tax now for a PS3 and $160 in goods thanks to the gift cards, or its spend $217.49 after tax and get $100 in goods thanks to the gift card if the price drops $100. It literally works out to giving Target $60 now and getting it back in a gift card, or simply saving $60 cash by buying later after the price drop to spend where ever I want.

And while I personally buy many items at Target, not everyone does, so keeping that $60 cash instead of converting it to Target GC is probably the better way to go - ASSUMING the $100 price drop comes to fruition and the new price is $199.99.

And additional warranties? Yes they make your overall cost rise, but its a fixed price, so it really has no bearing on whether to buy it now or buy it after the price drop.

Of course if the price drop is only $50 or something like that, it would have made more sense to buy the clearance model now.

I see what you're saying. Just don't come back with that 'shoulda, coulda, woulda' stuff or else! :twoguns:

J/K! :)
Why is everybody else's Target so cool? :(
i agree, the targets in my area suck as well. they all still have many old games like wolverine for $20 and the first dj hero for $80. whenever they do clearance games they all get snatched up right away at 30% or sit there and never budge off 30% until they finally get sold. i was watching these 4 copies of borderlands a few months ago and they sat at 30% clearance for more than a month until they one by one sold at 30% off.

Feast or famine at the Targets here in south OC. After a nice selection of clearance at the Irvine Spectrum, I found no clearance games at all at the Jeronimo/Los Alisos store. Wanted to look at the clearance t shirts, and this "clearance booze" everyone here seems to be enjoying, but had to leave, as the wife was "crowning". Her words, not mine. This is why I shop alone.

Got some great clearance stuff today:
PS3 - Sly Collection - $14.98
PS3 - Vanquish - $14.98
PS3 - Buzz: Quiz World Bundle - $9.98 (for a friend)

Also nabbed Naussica on BluRay which had a temporary price drop to $19.99! :D

This PS3 slim is playing my PS1 Street Fighter Alpha 3!!!!! It's the 160GB one. It wouldn't play the PS2 Street Fighter Alpha Anthology.

*facepalm*

ALL PS3s play PS1 games. No PS2 manufactured since like 2008 plays PS2 games.

Wow, I'm surprised Sony can keep selling PS2s that don't play PS2 games if that's the case, they're just overpriced DVD players at that point. :p (I kid)

Anyway, will head to target first thing in the morning, hopefully I can snag that GotY Borderlands if it's there. Still have yet to play this game.
