I like girls who are bad ass.... Ergo Anime (Thread)
If you don't want to have to mess with codecs, you could use VLC. It plays basically everything except RM. And doesn't rely on codecs, has them built in. Or Media Player Classic (Real Alternative), plays RM and a few others right away, and with codecs it can play anything. And it eats up less resources than WMP or RP.
It actually wouldn't play in VLC for me the first time around.

I've used that, Media Player Classic, and Zoom Player (uninstalled that one though, I think that is what may have caused my problems in the first place). I prefer sticking with Windows Media Player though because I like the easy access brightness controls in it. Most files look too dark to me and I'd rather adjust brightness in the player than adjust gamma on my desktop.
Fie on you for not liking Beck! :hot:
From the couple episodes of Beck I watched (like four or so), it really didn't grab me. It may get better later on, but I didn't like it. The only thing I really liked was the music, especially the Beat Crusaders opening.

The fourth episode is just where you get a glimpse at where the series goes. If you're going to watch it at all, you need to keep watching.
Fie on you for not liking Beck! :hot:
Hey, I gave it a shot. It just wasn't compelling to me. Sorry dude. It's actually quite ironic as I usually go for these artsy kind of anime. For example, Paradise Kiss was beyond bizarre but I was really hooked into the storyline from the beginning.

Finally finished Kashimashi. A very good series IMO. I was on the edge of my seat for the conclusion.
The last few seconds of the final episode baffle me though.
As for the Naruto183 not being the end of the filler, it sucks, but it should've been expected with the new intro, as I'd think that when the big jump does happen that there'd be a new intro to accompany that.
Yeah, but some of us don't want to think they're going to have a whole season more of filler!

Plus, that intro would've been perfect to start the non-filler:

Time has been standing still for me, but a new journey is about to begin!

I just saw Naruto on Toonami...

Man, I don't think I ever saw anyone take as many punches to the head as Sakura did. That was brutal. I'm kind of surprised they showed that beatdown as much as they did.

Showed as much as they did? You mean between all the flashback sequences? Which comprised 90% of the episode?

Oh, before I leave, I just saw the beginning of Witchblade. I didn't think it was related to the US comic but it is. I don't have time to see it now but it looks promising although I don't think Sara Pezzini will be the protagonist.
No, it was...

...one of those sound ninja in the Chunin Exam. The one with the holes in his hands. Too lazy to look up his name. Pretty sure it's the same one that gets his arms broken by Sasuke.

The Sound Village guys. Where Sakura cuts her hair.

No, I mean the repeated punches to her bloodied head. For Toonami, that was more than the norm.

In terms of Toonami and Naruto:
I'm curious to see how they handle the parts when Itachi uses his sharingan on Sasuke and Kakashi in the first few eps he shows up in. Hard to see them showing Sasuke's family/clan murdered and Kakashi getting stabbed all those times. Unlike editing out blood or part of a fight, if they take those out, it would screw up the story.

Wow, I keep forgeting how far behind CN is in relation to Naruto. Anyway, I just saw Witchblade and while my guess was correct (Sara Pezzini is nowhere to be seen), they seem to keep to the qualities of the Witchblade comic (in function if not form).

Also, School Rumble 2nd Term is shaping up to be a worthy 2nd season to its predecessor.
Just finished ep 6 of Haruhi. Looks like it's time to start the first mystery. :D
I'm glad you mentioned it. It must have been released a few hours ago because I didn't see it earlier today.

I am trying to broaden my viewing and have started watching Princess Princess and Ouran High School Host Club. Both are pretty interesting so far.

Never seen either of them. Haven't been watching too many series' lately. Mainly just sticking to Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and Haruhi. Oh, and reading The Getbackers. :D One day, I will watch all 400+ episodes of Detective Conan and the movies.. Going to take awhile for subbing though..
Now to wait for DB to finish subbing Bleach 79.

For DLs I have been sticking to 12 episode series for the most part. I like having something I can watch without devoting huge amounts of time in downloading. Series like Naruto and Bleach I would rather wait to watch on TV. I have made an exception in dl'ing One Piece though since the 4Kids version is butchered.

I still prefer buying DVDs though. Haunted Junction is the next DVD set I am going to watch.

In regards to manga, I FINALLY got my volume 26 of Ranma 1/2 from Rightstuf. I've read all the way up to it so far. I'm also reading Boys Be.

I still want to see or read Getbackers myself.

If you check out Getbackers I'd reccomend the manga over the anime. In the anime there're alot of yaoi-ish moments where Ginji and Ban seem too friendly. In the manga though it's darker and no yaoi-ism. ;) Also alot more action.

I'm worried about the Bleach dub.. The fact alone that they changed shinigami/death god to "soul reaper" has my blood boiling already...

I'll probably check both out. Yaoi-ish moments don't bother me. There are quite a few in Princess Princess.

Princess Princess

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=6467

Plot Summary: When beautiful Tooru transferred to an all-boys school, he received a warm welcome...but little did he know that his new classmates had nominated him for the academy's "Princess System." The lovely campus "Princesses" must dress as girls (in frilly Gothic Lolita costumes) at school events in order to lighten the stolid masculine atmosphere. Tooru balks at first, but soon comes to realize the advantages of being a "Princess."

Ouran High School Host Club

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ency...me.php?id=6122

Plot Summary: Haruhi is a poor girl in a rich kids' school. She only got to go there because of a scholarship. She happens upon the Host Club when she is looking for a place to study quietly. After getting there, she breaks an $80,000 vase. After which, she is forced to work at the club to pay off the debt. The only problem is that the members don't realize she's a girl....

I find the gender awkard situations make for entertaining storytelling. Ranma 1/2 is my favorite anime and manga so I guess that would make sense.

I used to not be into manga at all, but lately I've been really getting into it. Check my manga link to see what I own.

I also started reading Battle Royale (first 2 volumes). Damn that is the most violent thing I have ever read. I usually wouldn't care for something like that but it's quite compelling. I can't wait to read the rest. I actually felt sorry for the characters. I'm glad I still have Ranma to lighten the mood though.

I've been buying/reading alot of manga too lately. I checked your list and you seem to have some similar interests. I like Ranma alot, but due to the length I never bought all of the novels, all I have is about 3 of the 24 (I think, Idk) page big normal comic sized Ranma chapters that I bought about 6 years ago.
I've been meaning to pick up the Tenjho Tenge volumes also. So far I have Getbackers 1-13, Bleach 1-12, Chobits 1-8, Initial D 1-5, GTO 1-10, Kenshin 1-20, and One Piece 1-7. Been meaning to check out the Negima books too.

EDIT: Just read some reviews on the new show Black Lagoon. It looks pretty good. Anyone know a good group subbing it? The best group I could find only had 2 episodes out..

I have recently caught up with School Rumble, and it turned out to be pretty good. I like all the parodies (as much as the Western ones I can get) and the relationships between the characters, although it will get quite boring if they don't do anything with those potential relationships. Season 2 started off well with its Battle Royale-esque game.

Now I'm onto Monster. It's quite a different pacing that SR, AMG and F/SN, but it should balance out well with what I watch.

And as for Detective Conan, it's taking a long time for them to sub weekly. I'm not impatience or anything, but does anyone else know other subbers than Anime-Conan? They're good subbers, but it's taking a long time for one episode to come out, and I'm still at episode 99.

Wow is Haruhi's episode jumping getting out of hand. I feel like I need to keep a word document with what each episode actually is.

So, now we're jumping to the episode before they go to the island? Then again, I called that we wouldn't see the end of the island arc right after this episode.

Such an entirely random show, but that's why we love it.

Ugh, downloading Bleach. Going 120ish kb/s, but can't get connected to any of the three seeds. Hopefully someone will finish soon or this speed won't last too long.

It's beatiful in that the arc is finally getting under way. There's so much badassery on the way. I look most forward to
Luffy's declaration of war.

How shitty we don't get any new episodes until the 21st though. At least were getting a new OP.

Wow. I was all set to make a Haruhi ytmnd when I read this...

Expect your site to be deleted if it lacks humor and includes any of the following: anime, extreme racism, hardcore pornography, anything illegal, pictures of your friends, inside jokes, etc

I decided to register for the forums to see if I could find out what the deal it and man if it isn't like the very worst of Gamefaqs x 1,000,000. To hell with it.
Geez, let the fillers end! All of them!:bomb: They drag them on and on... and on.:hot:
Just saw naruto 184 and it's utter crap. The only redeeming quality was the preview for the next eps. which features a young (read: around naruto's age) Jiraiya, Tsunade, & Orochimaru. Hopefully the next one lives up to the preview.

fillers are still going to the end of may at least so far,

the manga on the other hand

"...sasuke-kun" we get to see the lil angst child, though when they finally put it on tv that whole chapter will last like 10 seconds
Man I hear that song all the time but I never know its name
The song is "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" by Daft Punk.

Daft Punk is awesome, and I usually don't like that type of music.

Speaking of Daft Punk (and their relation to anime), I really want to buy Interstella 5555.

I dont mean continue the story like that, but it would have been a nice little ending to see him watching over Near as a shingami, it almost like a to be continued ending, but the story ends, unlike the retarded girl praying for him. THough they could have at least shown what happened to poor Misa

Call me crazy, but I'm finally catching up in Bleach (I hadn't watched any of the filler prior to a few days ago), but I find myself rather liking the Bountou arc. They seem like an interesting enough group of villains for a filler arc. The only thing I'm not sure I like is all the stuff that has happened that messes with the next arc, like Rukia showing up and everybody finding out Ishida is no longer a Quincy. I'm not even sure they know that in the manga yet.

Yeah, they know he lost his powers.
They don't know he got them back yet, though. To be fair, neither does he, yet, as he got knocked out pretty good by Pa. But when he comes to, oh boy will it be beatdown time.
