This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

The only game that I was waiting to drop was DK: BB. Two nearby Targets had 4 copies ($29.98) and 1 copy ($34.98). This morning I decided to sleep in an extra 1/2 hour. I went to work and was unable to get away to check for a price drop. I ended up getting to the Targets after 8 pm. As you can probably guess, the game dropped at both Targets to $12.48. As you can also probably guess, all copies of DK:BB where nowhere to be found. In my mind, if i had not slept in, I would have been able to get a copy.

Lesson to be learned: Lazyness is the enemy of all CAGs.

Oh well, the wait continues for the next round of clearance games.

If the game has a shelf label then just look for the DCPI number. It looks something like: 207 53 1001

Then punch that number into the price checker (most have numbers on the side that you can manually enter a DCPI).

This will give you the price, and you don't need to have them open up the case.

I use my cell phone and punch the numbers into it then walk to the scanner and check prices. I'm sure it looks odd, but no one has ever questioned me.

The employees question me all the time. Some lady even stopped me and accused me of running a scam or something. This was the same lady that tried to tell me that "We don't sell 360s", then "It's still $350" when I made them look, then "We're not doing any gift card offers" when I made them scan it in.

Needless to say I made her scan it in and got my $300 360 with a GC.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but that's tampering with merchandise and you could be banned from the store(at the least) for doing it.

It's also a frowned upon practice here on CAG.

You make a very good point. Transparency is a good policy on this stuff - ask yourself "Would I do this if I was standing right next to a Target employee?".

duluth, mn cleared out their stock pretty much. saw 1 copy of soldier of fortune: payback at $14.98 and about 4-5 copies of some NCAA football game for 360 at 14.98. oh yeah, and loads of spyros, didn't catch the price tho.

Taking off a sticker off IN THIS CASE isn't tampering- you're ensuring you pay the correct price without some dumb employee overriding it for a higher price.
 
Whenever I come across a zeroed out game on a price check, I just tell the cashier the maximum discounted price it would've sold at. $59.99-$7.48, $49.99-$6.24, $39.99-$4.98, and $29.99-$3.74. I've never bought a clearance game that started at $20. And to the many of who frequent this thread, we all know what price games started at before being clearanced. I've never been questioned by a cashier when I tell her the appropriate price. Over the past year I've picked up Bee Movie game, The Club, Nascar 08, and Folklore. I'm not trying to get over on them. I just want to pay the right price.

See, that's when I'll say something like "guess you should know your fuckin' product, eh?" and smirk while I walk out. I've had a few Kmart employees give me a similar type of issue, and I always give them respect until it's clear they are flat out assholes no matter what, then give the attitude right back...
 
About damn time - :wii: Dancing With The Stars - $7.48. Someone found one of my two hidden copies, but at least I got one for myself. I will dance to The Final Countdown as Slater all night!
 
Finally found Heavenly Sword for $14.98. It was hidden behind some old school PS2 games. Someone wasn't sneaky enough. I got yours.

You don't have a "right" to get the game at that price, like you two seem to think you do. What part of "your mileage may vary" didn't you get? There is no "correct price," and they don't have to give you the game - at most of the stores around here, they'd either sell the game at full price or just not sell it if it wasn't marked and didn't scan.

Tony Hawk Proving Ground (360) for 9.98 x 1
Turning Point: Fall of Libery (PC) for 7.xx..had about 6 copies of that one.

Is the mic from the American Idol Encore 360 bundle a (possibly rebadged) Logitech USB mic? Will it work on a PS2 or even a Wii?

I think anything that's not a Singstar mic is a standard USB mic these days. Karaoke Rev/Rock Band/Boogie/etc. should all work on any system.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I tried it, but lost interest about an hour to an hour and a half in. Seemed to much like it *wanted* to be God of War to me. Others think it's great though. Too hooked on GoW myself. :)

Back on topic, found a few copies of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty in Memphis at Target Germantown Pkwy for about 7 bucks, that's about it. :(

I'm not sure it exists anymore. I PM'ed a few people who said they had multiple copies but was either ignored or offered a ridiculous selling price.

On the other hand, I don't think what jaysapathy asked for is fair. The seller would lose out on shipping costs, etc., by selling it for the price he/she paid.

Yea Veteran CAG's usually hook other Vet CAG's up. There have been a lot of Noob selfish CAG's out there lately.
 
you guys are pathetic if you think selling a copy of HS for $30 is "ridiculously priced" when it costs about $16 after taxes, about $2 out in paypal fees, about $1 in the envelope fee, and about $3-4 to ship w/delivery confirmation.

that's like $7 profit after shipping, and that doesn't include the time + gas used to get to the PO.

good luck finding your $15 heavenly swords, let alone a $30 copy unless it's used.

those of you who can't find one on clearance who want it should be happy someone is willing to sell you one for $30 shipped, brand new.

my extra copy is gone.

I've been ignored or quoted ridiculous prices before, even after I helped out with some games others couldn't find for cost+shipping. It happens and has happened in the reverse as well when I had a buttload of guides to offer for trade/sale. I had a price of $4 or so shipped per guide or 4/$11 shipped or something to that effect and people would offer their own amounts that would have me sending them at a loss to myself.

Again, it happens but you move on.

As for jay wanting the game for cost, I'm sure he meant cost + shipping but figured that most would know that it was implied without having to be said.

Oh and for those who still can't find Heavenly Sword, today is the LAST day for their $29.99 sale on used copies of HS at Gamestop. This is just a quick heads up in case some of you are still having issues finding it.
