Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Basically people post games that Target have on clearance in here, as well as their clearance price(s). :)

Went to the Bergen Mall (Town Center, or whatever they call it now) Target. They probably had over 50 copies of The Godfather II in the end cap, along with a few copies of Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3 and a copy of Bionic Commando. Everything else (Pre-Christmas) was gone. I then went to the case to see what was there, and there was another 12 copies of Godfather II. I don't know who had the great idea of buying so many copies, but hopefully they will last until the price drops to single digits. The trip wasn't a complete lose though, on my way out I picked up a box of fruit snacks for $1.72.
I did find a $14.98 Godfather II (360) that must have been a return as I didn't see it when I was in there a few days before Christmas, so I picked it up with the 1600 points card and coupon.
Its called foreign sir. Some asshole kid or adult must of picked it up and placed it somewhere else.

Absolutely NADA over at the Sunnyvale Target.

I haven't been back here in months and I see that they no longer have glass cases but rather lots of plastic containers containing all the new releases outside the floor.

Oh well, will see what's new when I return to Georgia.

Iron Man for PS3 is on clearance? Have not seen such game in Target in months.

Here are some DPCI:

[207-24-0042] Transformers: the Game
[207-24-0096] Unreal Tournament III

:pc:

Sadly, most of these are seen before Christmas and were not seen again.

Basically, the games listed on the first post of this thread have been found by fellow CAG members as being on clearance at Target stores nation-wide. Now, with this knowledge, you can hit up your local store and locate the video games clearance section and check if the games you want can be found for the cleranced price.

Whether you find it or not depends on your Target store policy. Generally, different Targets have different clearance games and price drop policies, so while you can find game A for $12.XX at one Target, the same game A may be marked as $24.XX at another Target in your area.

Hope this makes sense. The best way to find out if to hit your local Target and check what games are on clearance. They should match most of the titles on the first post. If you find anything not mentioned in this thread, just report it here.

I found 4 copies of AC (PS3) but they rang up 19.99. So I assume they have to be a certain version? Or how does it work?
I found 4 copies of AC (PS3) but they rang up 19.99. So I assume they have to be a certain version? Or how does it work?
For clearance, the price usually varies by store. Like some people may find AC for around 7 dollars, where as some may find them to be 30. And then there's some that won't find that game at all.

LEGO Batman was on clearance for $12.xx at one particular Target. After they sold out of them, they got another shipment in and made them $20 again (I scanned). This is the first time I've seen this scenario first hand.

Did you find greatest hits version or the regular? Because usually its the regular version that will be clearance. Also like darkzion said it does vary by store and are, for example I find target greatlands have different prices from normal targets by me but even then prices are really per individual store.

man I am going to hit up all my local Targets for Assassin's Creed for $7, want to finish playing it now that I played AC2 then flip it for the $20 GameStop deal

This is a good time to check your local Targets as there are a lot of returns and hidden games reappearing. I got a copy of Fable 2 yesterday for $7.50 which my store hadn't stocked in over a year.

Pick up Rock Band Track Pack Country Ps3, the red tag said $20.98 (30% off), but I scanned and it said 7.48 (75% off).

I checked some "returns" and "go backs" in the shopping cars.... after that everything is clear... nothing left... just copies of Bionic Commando for $29.98 (50% off).

If you find a "return" or an old video game with the red tag: If you scan a video game, and it says "not in the system" or show as "$0.00"... ask the electronics guy or a team member who has the "little machine" (don't ask a newbie).... this thing can recognize the last price of the clearance stuff... you need some luck, just depend who's helping you... some team members from Target don't want to sell you the game (they're lazy)... or they want to sell you with the full price.... avoid managers

Ya awhile ago LEGO Batman was $12.xx but now they are getting restocked and they are scanning for $19.99.

I've seen it happen for other games too including Prince of Persia and Frontlines: Fuel of War...

Went to a Target that I was stalking Ghostbusters Ps3 at 24.98 to see if it had dropped and it was gone.....back to the case and priced at 59.99............seriously.....

Deptford, NJ:

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (Xbox 360): $14.98 (one copy)
Guitar Hero On Tour + Decades + grip (DS): $42.48
Spore Creatures (DS): $14.98
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (DS): $9.98

Damn I don't think they EVER had IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey at any of my local Targets...

I went to Target and was surprised to find:

Bionic Commando :360: - $29.98
My Chinese Coach :ds: - $14.98
Cabela's Big Game Hunter?? :wii: - $19.98
FFTA2 :ds: - $14.98

I either already have or am not interested in anything on the list but I'm just surprised that they weren't blindly picked up at 50% off. I didn't notice any new drops. The games in the glass cases were really picked over so I'm not sure what titles they will clearance whenever they do another drop. I don't remember it being this bad last year. In fact, the clearance endcaps were in decent condition at my Targets this time last year .
Wow, whoever found RE5 on PC for 12$ is lucky. I want it. =/
I picked it and Section 8 up at that price. I had wanted to wait on both til they hit $7.48, but I worried(correctly) that they would be gone by then. As it turns out, they were gone at all my local(and some less-than-local) stores before they hit that price.

The Assassins Creeds at my store for $4.98 were the 360 Platinum Hits version. There must have been like 40 of them at one time, but they are ALL gone now. ;)

Updated list. I saw some DPCIs being posted (and one guy who posted a fairly large list) I'm not going to worry about changing those in the OP until we see some new January drops and it's back to business as usual. Everything from Christmastime is most likely irrelevant-- I'm sure there's some clearance out there, but the general consensus seems to be "OMFG STORE RAPED."

Yeah, I remember all of the people saying "EVERYONE WILL BUY EVERYTHING AT CHRISTMAS" just being hype-- my stores still had clearance. But this year it seems to me to be almost entirely true.

Nice spotting of My Chinese Coach. Might be good to brush up on some Chinese for when America's new owners come into town.

I scored with the X-Mas returns. Got GH:Metallica and GI Joe for $14 & 13. I'll be keeping GH:M but I'll most likely trade in GI Joe at GS for the $20 credit.

There should be a copy of Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor for $7.48 at the Streetsboro, OH Target that I returned a few days ago. I'm glad I had left it unopened and kept the receipt. I only returned it because it was on Steam for the same price, without tax. And I don't have to keep track of the disc that way. :D

Something I keep forgetting to post: Beatles Rock Band(full $250 bundle) has the NCF prefix now. It hasn't dropped in price, but hopefully in the near future.`
Target price matches print ad's for identical items but doesnt take internet print outs.
Unless you get a nice enough employee.

Bingo. Mondays are when the pricedrops happen at most stores, gang. I recommend visiting Monday during rush hour (4-5pm if you can bail at that point)-- if you try to go when they open, the markdowns usually haven't been done because they have to update them manually. And if you've been eying an item but show up late (after 8pm), it might be gone.

My local has a huge quantity of Wall-E for Nintendo DS and basically nothing else. Probably will be waiting until the end of January until goodies start showing up again, I reckon.

Free 1600 ms points coupon STILL working! Used it tonight when I picked up a copy of The Orange Box, which is still at normal $19.99 price

There's a coupon somewhere to get 1600 points for free?
