Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Old coupons still work at Target stores if you get the right Target cashier like the 11/25/09 expired Buy 2 :360: games, get $10 off coupon. It still worked for me last week. Awesome awesome deal. RIP.

Not much around here in the way of games, but I did get a Dyson DC17 vacuum cleaner on clearance for just below $300 after tax (50% off regular price). Pretty good price for a Dyson. I'm hoping that it drops again within the next couple of weeks so that I can price adjust :D

Meaning one who doesn't notice the expiration date, or one who sees it and is like "well, just this once..."?

My local Target moved its video game clearance from about fifty feet from the video game section (at the very end of the electronic area, facing a back wall nobody vists) to the endcap of the video game section. It also now contains more of a grab bag of stuff, rather than simply video games. With that, there's been absolutely nothing for months. This store still doesn't have Fallout 3 GOTY in stock, so I'm shocked that the clearance was put in a visible area.

It was definitely fun while it lasted, though.

Yea all they do on the 1600 points one is scan the coupon and it takes the $19.99 off automatically. I will keep using these coupons as long as the keep working :)

Good luck. Ive been cock blocked on price adjusting clearance items...return and re-buy is the way to go.

Does it only work automatically if you're buying an item of hardware with it, rather than say a 360 game?

I've been buying 360 games and it works just fine. They scan the game then the white points card and then the coupon. I cut the top of the coupons off where the exp. date is at cause it works just fine when they scan it.

If I use the free 1600 points card coupon and then return the game, will I get back a full refund or the price minus 19.99?

Thanks.

The Target system automatically splits the refund value between the game and the card. For example, I bought 360 Table Tennis for $14.99, with a free points card, and the receipt says the refund value of Table tennis is $6.42, and the points card refund value is $8.57

...Yea, I picked up the 360 version of DIRT 2 for $14.xx about 1 month ago at Target (Dallas) by Love Field. Only had one copy tho so of course i got it! :D

One of my Targets has Battalion Wars 2 for Wii 24.98, and oddly enough, a couple copies of Bionic Commando 360 for 29.XX, and nothing else! Both my stores have been pretty lame since before Christmas, my last good pick was Dawn of War 2 (PC) in November

My last good pickup was also DoW II PC for $9.98, just in mid december instead of november.

Mine had Battalion Wars 2 for $25, too. I thought it'd be $12.xx since there was a 50% off clearance items but I guess that the 50% off is off the MSRP. I'll probably return it since I didn't want it for that price.

Would anybody be interested in helping out a fellow CAG, and pick up a copy of Mini Ninjas 360 for the $12.XX??? I would be more than happy to pay, through PayPal. My Targets have been cleaned out of any worthwhile clearance games for a while now.

Target at Kirkwood, MO was pretty picked over for clearance. Nothing but a few copies of Bionic Commando (360) and Damnation (360) for $29.xx.

On another note I got Crank (bluray) for $9 after using my $3 Lionsgate coupon (bonus coupon at Target).
Something I keep forgetting to post: Beatles Rock Band(full $250 bundle) has the NCF prefix now. It hasn't dropped in price, but hopefully in the near future.`
Is this the full Beatles Bundle (with Paul's bass) or the Rock Band bundle with the Beatles game?

Anyone have any luck using the free PS3 remote or XBL points card coupon today? I tried using the ps3 remote coupon and it didn't work...

details on this coupon please

Target made web coupons for a free PS3 blu-ray remote with hardware purchase and one for 1600 Microsoft Live points with hardware purchase. But the coups were either vaguely worded or miscoded, because the points one worked with software as well as hardware, so several of us netted a nice Live points windfall.

Either way, the coupon expired on 12/24. Since this is Target we're talking about, it's worked past that date, but I'd bet that both are truly out of system by now.

Gonna swing by this afternoon to see if any new games got the chop.
cool.... anyone see any new clearence yet?
My Target (Charleston, SC) was wiped clean  I grabbed PS3 Singstar vol 2 w/ mics for $14.98, but I'm probably going to return that. Didn't see anything else....

I heard something about 50% off Target clearance games - was that last week or something? I missed that one...

Even if any new drops do happen, it'll be weeks until they make it to the 75% off range anyway. January is going to be a pretty dry month for clearance (not that I'm entirely complaining, as it will give my wallet a bit of a rest and let me get through some of my backlog).
may have already been mentioned, but saw Battalion Wars 2 :wii: for 24.98 today
I got that for $4.97 from Sears about ten months ago. Target is usually very quick to clearance games so that is certainly surprising it took them this long.

I was shutdown on the PS3 remote when buying a game last week so I'm guessing that one is dead. Did people have success using that one with clearance games or was it just with other PS3 hardware items. I mean did it scan with no issue at the POS, not someone had to come over and override it. ;)
madden 10 for 14.98
It should be Madden 09 for Ps3 (14.98 is 50% off). I've seen a few weeks ago before Christmas. I can't imagine Target putting Madden 10 for 14.98 at this time......

Depends on your Target.

Although I've noticed that coupons tend to be shut down for the most part a few weeks after the expiration date regardless of which Target you go to.

So, you need to jump on these things ASAP before its too late.

The $10-off 2 games coupon lasted for about 1 month after expiration. I miss that coupon the most!

there were lots on the shelves, but 2 were on the clearance rack and I grabbed them. the ones in the case were still marked normally. It was weird indeed. Traded them both into GS already FWIW.

Almost nothing at Target in Copaigue NY. Saw 1 copy of Hawx (360) for $15 and a few unremarkable Wii games

I thought this one and the free XBox Live point card one were still valid, at least as long as you could find an employee willing to scan them.

You and me both. Maybe they will bring it back after i get through some of these games and my pockets recuperate.

Only new clearance game I saw today at the North Little Rock, AR Target was Planet 51 :ps3: for 24.xx. Other than that, the clearance section consisted of My Chinese Coach :ds: for 14.xx and...nothing. They haven't even filled all the spots behind the glass yet, so I bet it's going to be a while before I see anything worthwhile.

Do you remember that in August/September of '08 Target had put the Madden Anniversary edition on clearance? I got a couple of them for 22.48.
