Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I wondered where they moved the clearance end cap at my Target too. I spent awhile wandering til I gave up. I figured they just didn't have anything so they had to fill the end cap up with some merchandise.

I hope it doesn't stay this way because they never seem to mark down games behind the glass. To lazy to open it I guess.

Thought I'd pass this along, though it's probably YMMV, and I have no idea if I'm way late on this: I picked up Fable 2 from Target for $7.48 tonight. It didn't have a red clearance tag, in fact it had a spot on the VG end-cap (not a clearance section) with the $7.48 price listed. I thought it was a misprint, but it rang up at that price at the register. Hope this helps somebody else out.

Yeah I saw this on one of the PDAs when I was looking at work, but no Targets in the area have one in stock. They were clearanced out long ago and $7.48 was the final price point for the majority of them.

Interesting I picked it up at 14.xx a while back played it and flipped it at GS last week for the $20... I'll have to check a PDA tomorrow at work and see if I can pick it back up...

Was able to use a 1600 points coupon today at Muldoon target in Anchorage. So if you guys can find any 360 games in your Targets may be worth trying. I don't think I have ever used a coupon so many times

I stand corrected .. My store is the only store in the area that had 3 copies left. They were sitting in the Hits/shovelware aisle unmarked, untagged.

For those of you with iPhones, you can download the Target app for free. I haven't used it personally, but I was told by some employees that it acts somewhat like the PDAs Target uses to check stock prices and store availability. This could be useful for helping out some of us clearance hunters.

While there aren't many games right now, there are some things on clearance that appeal to the geek in us... The annual toy clearance is going on... Among the interesting items:

Justice League America 6 figure packs - 2 of them - one of rgood guys, one for villians... I got a pack of each for $7.48 (75% off)

Target exclusive Rancor Star Wars Diorama... (Was 29.99... Now 15. They are sitting at 50% if your store has them.)

It looks like they're moving very quickly on the toy clearance. I wouldn't be surprised if it all goes 75% off this week sometime.

Yeah, some stores have an overabundance of clearance toys (especially Super Targets). My Super Target has a few aisles dedicated to just clearance toys at the moment.. it's crazy.

They need to move the products ASAP though because aisle resets and new products are already coming in.
Does anyone have the link to the 1600MSP coupon? Is it still working?
I had a spare one I printed up a a month ago laying around. They aren't available on targets site anymore

Saw 3 or 4 copies of Bionic Commando yesterday. They were stickered at $29.xx, and must have been returns because the shelf has been bare for 3 weeks.

I don't know about them being returns -- a lot of Targets got a random distribution of BCs or just had them sitting in the back collecting dust. I noticed at a few stores Bionic Commandos for 360 coming out of nowhere at $29.98.

I remember 3 months ago finding 3 copies in my stockroom and I found it weird that I couldnt even search for it in the PDA but when I scanned it, it came up normal price. Then the week before christmas it just went straight to 29.xx at my store. Also I checked for some fable 2's in my PDA and got 0 across the board for all of central jersey.

Anyone see anything interesting at their Target store today? North Olmsted store doesn't have anything good, as usual, for the wii. The Xbox and PS3 games seem to be the same that have been there the past few weeks......still going for $15. Never seen a game for $7.48 at this store (except PS2)

It's the same as the Target mobile site with a location based store locator that's garbage.

Found an Xbox 360 copy of Wolfenstein yesterday. Rang up as "item not found." I told the cashier it should be $14.98, considering 75% off would have been the final price point. She rang it up that way, no problems. I love it when the cashiers don't fight me over it. Every time they do fight me, they have to get the price gun, and the price is always what I told them it should be, except they've wasted five minutes of my life.

There was a copy of Riddick :360: that also rang up out of the system. The last price it was tagged at was $41.98  so I tried to tell them it should be $14.98 and they denied me. No wonder no one's bought it yet.

Target - White Marsh, MD

10+ Guitar Hero - On Tour / On Tour Decades / Controller bundle for DS - $42.48
10ish Bionic Commando 360 - $29.98
1 Conduit Wii - $14.98

edit: wow, just looked these up, Bionic Commando is a terrible deal, the On Tour bundle is $50 for those things new. Conduit is an OK deal tho.

Wow the local target here has absolutely nothing new or old in the clearance section. I don't think I will even bother making stops at any other stores. Hopefully things will pick up in the next few weeks as releases pick up.
Holy crow, another San Antonio CAG in the house! Anyway, it seems nearly all of the Targets in SA are like this. I've been to the one on 1604/Blanco and also 410/Blanco and neither has a clearance section anymore. I even looked behind the glass cases and saw nothing, so chances are they were wiped out from Christmas still.
targets in san antonio suck

The district manager for my targets actually told them to remove the clearance endcap and leave the product in the case. I have a feeling my deals will get pretty terribad for a while. :(

Why? Were you stashing them?

I find that when stores keep them in the case the games last longer as they aren't being stolen or misplaced.

This seems to have happened around here too.

They did have several copies of PSP Phantasy Star at $19.98 last week (locked in the case of course). I'd definitely want to pick that up if it dropped today but I don't want to drive 20 miles just to find out if it dropped or not. I suppose I could call, but I hate doing that ;).

Edit - Called, and it took forever but they claim it is $16.98 now, which is just odd. It was $19.98 (50% off) yesterday. It doesn't seem right that it would go to $16.98 today (which is 57.5% off). It would either stay at $19.98 or go to $9.98. I'm thinking they may have just misread the $19.98 as $16.98.

I haven't seen any Clearance game endcaps since the new year at any of my local Targets (Minnesota).
Oh well.
Now I have GoHastings.com to use instead.

Clearance games usually lasts longer this way, it prevents the soccer moms or end cap clearance stalkers from impulse buying as they walk buy.

Plus sometimes they don't bother to open the case to re-tag them when they drop, so you get better odds of finding a $14.98 game that has a $41.98 sticker on it.

6 Copies left of Wario Land Shake It Wii for $24.98, waiting for another drop $12.48. I'm waiting since 2 weeks ago. No luck Today. I don't want to drive more miles because I know what's going to happen.

PD: They are going to remove the Clearance section to put new things on sale or something like that. Because there's no "ANY" game on clearance (unless Bionic Commando) (Christmas Shoppers stole OUR merchandise). Target always fill with new things in the empty endcaps, including of course in there's nothing on the clearance section. All the Stores do that. Well, this is me guess because I'm a Target Team Member.

I saw Battlefield bad company for 7 something at my Target, in retrospect I wish I had picked it up but when I got home it turns out that I just got matched for the gold edition on goozex. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two is anyways?
I have giant Tv's on clearance where my video games once were. At least something is working as a placeholder.
Yeah, my store has some Sony Bravia 32 inch TVs over on the clearance rack. Let'em drop, 'cause I totally want one....

Never stashed a single game, thanks for jumping to that though.

I guess that might work. The only problem I usually have is finding someone to actually open the case and scan a game. The last few times I have had to get 3 different people to do that. The first two people just looked at the sticker price and said 'Yup that's the price'.

This.

The elimination of clearance endcaps for video games means you might as well start printing out and carrying around UPCs for scanners for the titles your Target has on clearance that you're interested in.

I haven't been by in a few weeks by I hope my local Targets haven't eliminated their endcaps. Though one Target changed formats to putting everything in individual plastic cases, so I'm betting that after the holiday rush cleared out the clearance section, clearances will just be stickered once behind the plastic.

I don't see endcaps going away simply because the whole reason stuff is clearanced is to make room for new product. Therefore it's going to be pulled from regular retail space. I just think right now stores have unloaded most of their clearance stuff and have no need to devote an endcap to two copies of High School Musical Sing It.

This is most likely it. Target does not like to have gaping holes where product should be. That's why you see big items like paper towel bundles and huge things of detergent in the Seasonal area after a big clearance.

Yeah, I assumed they clearance items out because they don't have the space to stock it anymore. Leaving clearance games in the glass case is self-defeating.

I got WWE Legends of Wrestlemania-PS3 for 19.98 in a clearance end cap. Somehow I feel Target got the better deal there. I'll play it for the easy trophies and nostalgia.

Gainsville, VA Target has a few Fable 2 for 7.48 and a few Assassin's Creed that scan out of the system on the end cap.

Manassas doesn't have much of anything there.

I was actually playing the free episode 1 for Fable 2 yesterday and enjoyed the game.

Got the last copy for 7.48, was on the shelves not the clearance end cap marked at $20. I would not have bothered checking, thanks for the heads up hey.

managed to pick up fable II + 1600 ms points for 7.25 after tax, red card and coupon. the employee noted that the coupon expired, but was happy to take it if the system allowed it. hooray!

Edit - I forgot to mention that Assassin's Creed :360: has gone off clearance and back up to 19.99 at one of my stores.

Thanks for mentioning Fable II, picked up a copy during lunch. Tried the 1600pt coupon. It was accepted but the cashier reversed it after seeing the expiration date. Worth a shot.

Wow, still going strong after almost 3 weeks. Wish my targets had some clearance games for me to use this on.

Manassas has nothing period. Manassas West also had nothing either.
Manassas just has returned/opened items as is junk. Seriously are they going to start putting a lot of clearance games behind the glass because of all this stashing shit? What they need to do is keep it in those anti-theft cases making it bulkier and harder to stash.
