Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Went to a target out by a friends house earlier and found The Force Unleashed for 360 for $4.98, if it were for PS3 I would have grabbed a copy.
What they hope is people who use their credit card don't pay their balance all at once or in a short time. I believe Target APR is low 20's...so it doesn't take too long before you are actually paying more than if you paid it in cash.
Then use the cash and pay it off. I've never understood people who view credit as free money. I view it as a much easier way to use my cash.

Full disclosure, I do work at Target, but I always suck at getting people to sign up for Red cards.
^Was Guitar Hero 5 that bad? I remember there was a thread about a Guitar Hero 5 bundle going for like $10 at Bestbuy.
No it is the best GH game in a few years, probably the best since GHIII, but at this point it has been out a year and the new GH Warriors of Rock bundles are in stores so all the retailers have to clear out shelf space. I actually picked one up for the $22.xx price tag just because I needed a new Guitar.

That is one upside with all these huge music bundles that have been released over the past couple years. Stores like Target clearance them out, which makes for great deals for CAGs. Still use my Beatles RB drums that I picked up in the Limited edition bundle for $62.xx. :bouncy:

Well that is what all credit card companies want, right? Managing your CCs is so simple, Pay for your stuff with the credit card instead of cash, enjoy your grace period, pay off the full amount on the card on the due date, then reap your benefits such as points or up front discounts on purchases. Then just repeat each month.
Bought a couple of Garmin nuvi 205w's for $37.54 each. Used a 5 off 50 coupon I got from a previous transaction.
Good find, but map updates for that unit is going to be expensive :( considering the pre-loaded maps are more than 2 years old :(

Did Bioshock 2 CE come off of clearance? I was eying a :ps3: copy last week, when it was in to 4x.xx range. Went back today and it rang up regular price of 69.99. Really bummed... :(

You worried about the slip cover much, Spooge? There was one here a few days ago at 17, with a ripped slip cover. I could check it out for ya.

As long as the contents are all there, that's all that matters. Thanks Strell!

Went on a trip up to palisades mall in NY saw a PS3 version of Bioshock 2 SE for $17 but I already snagged a 360 version so I left it for anyone who's interested.

Damn I need to get to Target ASAP to hopefully pick this up for $17. Two Targets w/ in 10 mins of each other near me had it last time I checked.

Depends on if the extras interest you Typical guy. It comes with a record soundtrack of the first game, a cd sound track of the second game, 3 little advertisement posters from in the game, and a nice 168 page hardback art book. plus an extra copy of the game you could try selling or using as a gift since the holidays are almost here.

Finally a decent find!

Alpha Protocol (360) for 14.99. (Last one in the area too).

Also brought a pretty nice PSP GO case for around 6 bucks. (To replace the sandwich bag i had been putting it in like a true cheap ass)

Does anyone have a DPCI for the Bioshock 2 SE for 360?

Now that it has been announced that the upcoming DLC won't be coming to PC, I figure I might as well get that to get the 360 version since it's cheaper than the game by itself.

Last I heard, they had said no, and now they are saying yes as of a day or two ago - did that change again?

No idea. I just saw the no a few days ago. If they have changed then that is excellent news!

EDIT: just Binged it, and apparently you are correct! Yay!

On another note Prototype went down to $14.98 near me, think I might pick it up with the B2G1 sale next week. That a good price for it? Keep hearing mixed thoughts on the game when it was released, but for $15 theres not too much you can lose.

Did you play Hulk: Ultimate Destruction last gen? If so, Prototype is Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with a skin swap basically.

Although you do have some pretty cool powers in the game, like being able to absorb people and become them just by walking up slowly behind them and following them to a secluded spot then pressing a button to absorb them.

But even the grabs that the main character does in Prototype are similar to the Hulk's grabs from H:UD.

It's still a fun game and worth $10-15 at least.

Picked up a :360: GH5 Guitar Kit for $22.xx

They also had a :ps3: GH5 Guitar Kit for the same price at the Arlington Target in Riverside, CA if anyone is interested.

I'll have to think about it then, I remember H:UD but I didn't really like it when I played it. Wouldn't mind giving prototype a try though, the premise isn't too that bad for $15. I'll consider it for the B2G1 sale if I find 2 other games but can't find a third to throw in.

Lucked out and found a Bio2 LE
iconxbox360.gif
today:bouncy:. It was still tagged at the 48.xx price but rang up at 17.48

Figured I missed out since all the other stores sold out and this particular Target is crappy for VG clearance. Makes me wonder if the price wasn't adjusted until recently as I remember seeing this copy float around the entire Electronics section (everywhere from PC section, to books to musical instruments)

Someone asked for the DPCI on the 360 version, so if you still need it...
Bioshock 2 LE
iconxbox360.gif
- DPCI #207220456

The Voorhees, NJ store dropped their Bioshock 2 Xbox 360 CE's to 75% without changing the tags, so if you hurry you might snag it for $17.48. One copy's on the bottom shelf above the Rock Band 2 bundle.

Bioshock 2 (Xbox 360, CE): $17.48 (two copies)
Alpha Protocol (PC): $12.48
Kane & Lynch 2 (PC): $12.48
Splinter Cell: Conviction (PC): $12.48
Brutal Legend (Xbox 360): $9.98
The Saboteur (Xbox 360): $9.98
Disciples II Gold (PC): $2.48
Sacred Gold (PC): $2.48
Pirates (PC): $2.48
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PC): $2.48

stopped at the Target in Glen Mills PA today, found some PS3 Guitar Hero 5 guitar bundles for $22. Ended up picking up 2 just for the extra guitar. I left 1 there for any local CAG

Target in Albany had:

Xbox 360
Sega Superstars Tennis, Sabateur, Backyard Football for 13.98.
Borderlands Double Add on Pack for 10.98.

PS3
Prototype for 13.98
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for 34.98

Target's been pretty terrible lately for 360 clearance...ugh. The Bioshock 2 LE's that were there (one for 360 one for PS3) both disappeared on the same day. My store is usually a little late in price drops so I can't imagine they were bought after they dropped to $17.

Also they are being EXTREMELY stubborn on the 360 GH5 guitar bundles. Every time I go in they're still at $44, I even scan them each time to make sure.

Those BS2 LE sets have been screwy. They disappeared from all the local stores during Summer, then showed up again a month ago. Went straight from the 48.xx price to 17.48. Of course by then thet were gone. Although got lucky and found it today

The GH5 sets have also gone away at the 44 price

It makes me wonder if someone's buying them to price adjust later or if the store pulled them because of the upcoming B2G1 sale. Only a few of my stores have updated scanners to check stock; the rest use the old type.

What's the whole "updated scanner" thing about?

Updated scanners now have a line of number buttons on the right side of them that you can use to input a DPCI number so you don't need to scan the barcode if you know the number.

What Ultra said. Newer scanners let you type in the DPCI to check prices and will usually tell you if it's still in stock

Got Saboteur for 13.98. I hit the two Targets near me looking for the Bioshock 2 CE but no luck. My Targets suck. This is Baltimore by the way.

I actually seen newer scanners that have touch screens on them and you search by typing on a touch qwerty board.

Hello, I'm just contributing to this nice thread :)

PC Games I saw today

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
Kane and lynch Dog days 2

Both were each $12.48

The love is usually by electronics on an endcap with clearance sinage. If you can't find it there that means some darn hoarder hid it in the bra section.

Are you talking about the giant billboard like screen that has the iphone-like keyboard? An employee tried showing me one once, and its an interesting concept. It might have actually been good if it didn't freeze while searching.

Unless your talking about one like the barcode scanners thats just on a random aisle endcap/pole. I haven't seen any like that before with a touch screen and if this is the case I would be quite interested in seeing a pic of this new scanner if that is possible. I will probably be keeping an out for them now whenever going to target.

a newer target opened near me last year with the touch screen scanners, but they were replaced months later with standard number pad scanners. that is the only time i've seen the touch screen ones.

Yea I never seen the touchscreen scanners at my local Target, but at a nicer Target that I rarely visit near the suburbs. If I am ever there again, I'll be sure to take a picture of it, but this is all I was able to find on google.

One store near me has the touchscreen version, only one though (located in electronics at least). It works really well as it is able to search by product name as well as DPCI. All the other scanners in store have the physical buttons down the side of the scanner.

Now the large billboard ones they put up for the redesign suck. I've tried using them a couple of times and they either lag to display the info or freeze up. The idea behind them is good, but they suck in execution.
Yea I never seen the touchscreen scanners at my local Target, but at a nicer Target that I rarely visit near the suburbs. If I am ever there again, I'll be sure to take a picture of it, but this is all I was able to find on google.

If the "search another store" worked on clearance items, I would love for my target to have one of these. Being able to check stock of an item at local targets while looking for something without needing to ask and employee would be quite nice.
