Previous threads:

Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!

For example:

:ps3:
$4.98
123-45-6789 Random Game Name #12345678

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself.

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

New link to search for items using Target's online item #:

You can also take the DPCI # and search on Target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there.

(HUGE PROPS TO mitch079 FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL INFO!!!)

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:
Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to BigDirty for that^

Regarding items posted in the OP:

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Numbers in purple are DPCI #'s, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Numbers in orange are online item #'s.

I am starting off this new thread going back to October 1st, 2012.
Please refer to the prior thread for any items before then.

THIS IS A WIKIFIED THREAD!!! IF YOU ARE ABLE TO, PLEASE UPDATE THE OP WHEN YOU REPORT DROPS USING THE APPROPRIATE FORMAT!!!

THANK YOU....

that was down to 11.98 at my closest store. (xbox 360)

I think that the list on page one needs to be updated better. Though everytime i try to update it it's this coded mess. if it was just text with very minimal code it would be much easier to navigate.
Online, it has Fable 3 for $10. I walk into my local Target, and it says $20. The lady who scans it says $20. I hate my Target. Never has any good clearance items.
Mine is slacking too, you rarely ever feel like you hit the jackpot. everyone posts these great deals, and they're never there when I get to it.

Just a couple of NHL 2K12's in my store. I think there are too many resellers in the North Texas area. A few months ago I saw a guy scanning all the games in the clearance section of one target with his phone. Sigh....

I grabbed Singualrity today for $11.98. I need a time machine to use the Prototype code, but my Target was out of them. Dammit.
Picked up Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault for $13.98. Since my Target had quite a few of these I might just check back next week t if it gets cheaper and do a return/rebuy.
picked up the last copy at mine sunday

FINALLY, Target is going to modernize its price-matching policy to make it fall in line with what their holiday price matching policy was, basically: http://consumerist.com/2013/01/08/t...-price-matching-policy-to-a-year-round-thing/

I'm so damned befuddled that it took them this long, I almost want to slam on my keyboard repeatedly even despite the good news.

edit: I skimmed through both the Consumerist article and the Washington Post article linked within, but did not find any clear mention of whether this is effective immediately or in the near future.

Has anybody bought any used games at Target? I bought a used copy of Asura's Wrath for $12.99 since it is $30 used at Gamestop and $35 used at Best Buy.

I haven't but that is a great deal. Even better since you are buying used and therefore not giving money to Crapcom.
If capcom games are so bad, why even buy any of them used?
The games are not bad. The business practices are. Take that used game, Asura's Wrath, for example. The Good Ending is DLC that you have to pay for. Let me repeat. In orfer to FINISH THE GAME you have to pay for the game and pay even more for the ending.
It was on one of the bottom back racks. Not sure how long it had been out and I'm surprised no one had bought it. It weighs almost 70 pounds and it wasn't very fun trying to get it up to my upstairs apartment.
Remember it's still a dui if you get caught under the influence, I would have instantly bought that for my friends kids, great buy.

I was at a Super Target a earlier today, and they had signs up about the price match policy, so it appears to be in effect now.

It's new for 16.99 at Newegg...

So I had a copy of MGS :HD Collection I wanted to return since I got it cheaper. I know I had it in my car, but then couldn't find it. Went digging tonight, and saw it far back under my back seat (didn't even know there was an opening there in the first place)

Don't think I can return it now.....

I didn't even know that game cases could bend like that. I'm kind of curious about what the disc looks like. I know the manual/paperwork will be bent.

It looks like what happened when you left a VHS tape in the car for too long

I opened it up and the discs were fine, so that worked out. I had an extra 2 disc case, so just replaced it.

I'm guessing it got bent somehow when i put seats down while it was missing since there was one gash on the back that must be where it pressed down.

Really? There are lots of them behind the security glass in a lot of Targets near me.

I picked up Plants Vs. Zombies (DS) for $3.76. It was an online item. I was originally gonna trade it in at Best Buy for $8, but I might keep it cause its a lot of fun.

They have seen 2 and revelations in the cases at the ones I've been to but not brotherhood

In the same vein, I discovered a God of War III official soundtrack cd with the same pricing and tag. I passed on it, though.

Maybe they went on clearance and were sold.

Just snagged Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for $4.54. Clerk asked me where I "got my hands on that". When I pointed to the clearance endcap (and the three copies of Singularity still priced at $27.98), he shrugged and said "Hmmm. Interesting."

Clearanced?

or was this a NCF / OIR?

There was an endcap at one of my local stores with miscellaneous games on it, and many clearance games were always on it hidden in plain sight I guess. Off the Record, Professor Layton, Little Deviants, and so on. I always picked games at my leisure. They organized that endcap earlier this week. Oh well.
Well the Target I went to had the Sims 3 on Wii for 4$.

I regularly go to three or four Targets that are all within 15 to 20 minutes of home/work. There is a distinct difference between them in regards to video game clearance. Two are great and two are lousy. I assume there must be some sort of significant management discretion on how the clearance items are marked/handled.

If an employee doesn't know that, they don't deserve to know period because usually they are the ones that easily can get dibs on things, so don't ruin it for true CAG'ers.

That move bundle is nice. I bought one, but it was missing the motion controller. After 3 attempts to get it coorected with target, I ended up calling my CC company and Target ended up giving me the 29.99 on a GC and I got to keep the rest of the bundle. They gave me 29.99 because the controller was on sale for that much.
