Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Saw all the PS3 clearance games that everyone else did. :ps3:NBA Live '10 and :ps3:NBA 2k10 were both on clearance. Also saw :ps3:MX VS ATV Reflex.

The only clearance games I was interested in were MLB 10, which is still MSRP, and Borderlands, which is at $21. I'll wait for that to hit another clearance cycle before picking up, since I already have it on PC, and I only want it on ps3 for the trophies.
I had the oddest experience yesterday. Because the clearance games are now locked up at my Target, and I had general merchandise with me to buy, I "had to go up front." But because the game had been locked merchandise, I had to be walked halfway down the store and handed off to the clerk, who seemed just as annoyed and embarrassed about the whole ordeal as I was.

Needless to say, lesson learned. Buy any general merch I want only after I've already bought my clearance stuff.
Your Target must really have a problem with shoplifting.

Still, its odd they couldn't ring you up at the electronics counter with your clearance electronics and general items. That's what they used to do during the glass case days unless it was a really trusting Target, and I'd assume they still do that if you get something out of the plastic prison.

I guess so, though it must be a recent problem as the clearance games being locked up and the weird attitude are both new developments. A few weeks ago, all of their clearance was out at an endcap. Now it's all in the plastic prisons. It's very weird to say the least. Regarding the checkout, I think it was just a lazy employee, perhaps, as he mentioned to another customer that if they had general items as well as electronics to just go up front.
you guys wouldnt believe the amount of crap that gets stolen on a daily basis. Having worked Target electronics, I know that you see a ton of stuff (especially from the clearance EC's) get gutted every day
I used to work retail and I understand that. But man it's just bad customer service when you make customers feel like theft. And they should have seen me around target enough (I'm there almost every monday-tuesday) to know I'm not stealing anything lol. Sometime I want to walk to the security guy and say "Don't worry I'm just a cheap guy looking for cheap games" lol

But the thing I don't understand is that the games are locked up in the cases (not behind the glass) people can still break through these?

On the convo of theft, when I made my weekly rounds this Monday to the 3 target stores that form a triangle around my house, all 3 of them had some form of security in the electronics section talking with employees.

My nearest Target's stack of 50 or so Call of Duty 3 clearance games for the PS2 all vanished at the same time. I doubt it was a hoarder, so what happens to all these games when the store can't move them?

El Hoardo striked my targets hard. I visit 3 targets around me and they all had 10 or more of the 320gb hdd last time but all were gone this week. Man it breaks my heart to live by such a monsterous Hoardo.
Found a couple of copies for $8.74 (75% off).

This was in the Tomball, TX store....
Sweet! I may head out there tomorrow to try to find that.

I've been seeing Green Day Rock Band on PS3 for $25-$35, but I'm hoping that I can find it on 360 for that price sometime. All my music games are on 360.

I see the security guard hanging out in Electronics quite a bit. There's also been a few times where they are the only ones manning the area
Did you happen to see if Zelda: Phantom Hourglass had dropped further? I checked there a couple of weeks ago and there were 3-5 copies (if I recall correctly), but they were ~$25.
They're all gone, man. Sorry. I looked a week ago and there were two, and now they're both gone.

Oh man there was a whole cart load of Linksys routers of some type at my Target today, they were like $13.50 regular $54.99 and there were some HP drives of some sort in there too for around $20-30. I don't know if they were bringing them from the back to the shelves or if they were moving them from the shelves into the back.

they get moved to "the back" (a video game black hole)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 for $2.74! Seriously lowest I've ever seen a target clearance go.
:whee::shock: Damn. Where are you located Budz? I hope I catch it at one of my local Targets. I need to take a trip down there soon.

Found Bioshock 1 for PC for $4.98

Still can't find #2 for $7.48 though. :(

Also spotted Alpha Protocol :pc: at $24.98 (50%)

Made it to my target today in Toledo, Oh.

Bought:
Xbox 360
Dead Rising - $9.98
PES 2010 - $4.98

PS3
Infamous - $9.98
Metal Gear Solid 4 - $9.98

Alpha protocol was $30.xx for both ps3 and 360, will check back next week.
Prince of Persia was $9.98 for 360
most of the pc games were on clearance.

btw as for people watching me while I shop. There is never anyone around when I'm digging through the clearance end caps. I always have to press that button to call someone when I need a clearance game out of the plastic showcase things. Also when they get the game out, they just hand it to me and let me walk around the store with it. They don't make me buy it in electronics or walk me to the register.
I haven't bought a Target clearance game since the beginning of the year, it seems...
Ditto, what's the trick?

huh people watch you at your target???? maybe they watch me too but i dont pay any attention to them so i would know if they are watching me or not.

picked up the following today(All were for PC):

Borderlands $4.98
Metro 2033 $12.50

They also had:
Splinter Cell Conviction - $24.98
Kane & Lynch 2 - $29.98
Alpha Protocol - $24.98
Bioshock - $4.98
and crap ton of Bioshock 2 for $7.48

My Target doesn't even have a security guard anymore... There always used to be a couple at the front door but now you never see one on the floor anywhere.
I grabbed one of the 3525325 copies of Phantom Hourglass for $8.74 and Bioshock/Oblivion for the PC at $4.98.
You mean El Hoardo didn't take them yet?
You mean El Hoardo didn't take them yet?
For some reason they moved the game clearance titles over to where the pharmacy is. So El Hoardo hasn't noticed them while filling his cart up with Tylenol and Trojan condoms with extra lub.

Just keep an eye out for undercover security.

Anyways, Green Day RB is still 24.98 at my store. Please don't buy it El Hoardo.

Security is also an eye in the sky. I had a friend who use to work at Target doing security, he told me that they monitored cameras for suspicious behavior. So even if you dont see them, they still may see you.

Picked up Bioshock 2 for $7.48.

Saw some Borderlands DLC packs for $10. Each pack brought 2 of the DLC... so basically 50% off.(Don't remember which ones).

Found AvP for $7.98 at another Target nearby. Returned my unopened copy I bought two weeks ago for $14.98. Was surprised to see Halo Wars 360 for $10, too. They still had Burnout Paradise City for $9.98. They also had Prototype for PS3 now ($20) and Alpha Protocol for PS3 ($30). Plus a load of crapware for PC and tons of DS games.

I find it interesting that at the Targets I go to now the clearance aisles are actively moving around and spreading. They actually went in and pulled all the clearance titles out of the PC section altogether and put them all on whatever endcap they could find. Always pointed away from the main aisle, though. Literally, it's every other endcap at these Target's.

I guess the plastic prisons didn't help them avoid clearance after all. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a new era of great clearance sales at Target. I disliked the prior few months of no clearance worth looking at.

Nigel Planner FTW !!! Seriouisly , Target Clearance picking up again , The Sabotuer 360 $ 9.xx and Boarderlands Moxxi/Ned 360 $7.xx couldnt resist
Ditto, what's the trick?
What bojank Target is that? I work at a Target near Grand Rapids, Michigan and I'll tell ya, if the higher ups knew about that they'd flip. The only reason they should let you do that is if the game is below $20. Even then it's preferred you have the guest pay at electronics or send it up to the service desk for an in-store hold.

Also, the clearance is picking up because of the new reset in the games section. Mostly getting ready for the flood of new stuff. They also changed up the PC games(at least at my Target) to include the web game cards in the same section, instead of having them located in music. As for my Target, the reset happened this week so the prices for the games everyone has recently listed is still a notch higher. I'm tempted to pick up The Saboteur for $13.78 though.

EDIT: All of the Halo: Reach t-shirts and misc. accessory stuff went on clearance as well. So I did pick up the shirt with Noble Team on it for $6.98. Well, $6.66 after tax then my discount.

Last night I saw two copies of what look like resealed copies of Borderlands for $20.98 in Flowermound, TX, as well as a bunch (2 endcaps worth) of other PS3, PC, DS and PSP titles that I have since forgotten.

Today I got :ps3:Borderlands 20.98, :psp:Prince of Persia FS: 9.98 and :psp:Star Wars Clone Wars RH: 4.98. I heard SW and POP werent that good but I wanted to play them. It was the last copy of Boderlands but they have 2 copies each left of SW and POP. Everything else was the usual. (Lynchburg, VA.)

Picked up two copies of Borderlands PC for $4.98 each. Here's hoping the PC version is halfway comparable to the console version given the price difference.

I'm playing the PC version and loving it. However, I did not try the console version (I really suck at FPS games with a controller - I need to have the keyboard and mouse I'm afraid.). Missions are fun and the graphics are great on my PC, (even though I only have a Gforce 8600 GT on it for graphics).

My Target put an assload of stuff on clearance, but it's all still too high. Lots of games actually, seems like it's just been cell phone cases and other crap for an eternity...

I have an 8600m, Borderlands runs well, but I noticed as I got further into the game the framerate started dropping, particularly when I was in a steamy area, the steam effect was just bogging my computer down. Anyway, anything newer than that should be able to run it quite well. I'm just waiting for the GOTY edition, though ;)

Thanks MCHampster............If possible check and see what stores in like south chicago or northwest indiana that has any limited editiond bioshock 2's left. thanks again

I did spot Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma for $34.98 at the two Targets I dropped by. Here's hoping it'll sit there long enough to reach the next drop.

Decided to get the HP 4480 AIO printer. $25 for a quality scanner, printer, copier is pretty good deal. I made promise to myself to check my targets asap every monday and not tuesday now. Gotta beat the damn el hoardo!

I just recalled another clearance item some of you may be interested in. While I was browsing the electronics section earlier I did see they had Halo Reach shirts on clearance. Don't know if that's been mentioned yet.
