Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I wanted a pair for dual displays so I did some hunting at 3 Targets I was going to be near. One had it for $160, one for $40 but OOS, and the last(Chapel Hill Mall, OH) had it for $40 and had a display model left.

The electronics guy couldn't find any paperwork for it, so I asked if there could be an additional discount since there was nothing but the monitor and two cords(power and VGA) and he said he would ask the supervisor. He asked her and she said to give me an additional 30% off!!!

I got it for $27.99 + tax. :D
Lol, you lucky duck.

I'm definitely jealous.

You are lucky, since I asked and the lowest I could get the manager at the one store to go was to $90 with no documentation and the only wires being the power and VGA or whatever was plugged into the display.

I'll probably try the other local one this weekend, since it would appear I'm not going out of town for work tomorrow, so no stopping at the much further off one that's showing it as in stock still.

The associate just said it was on clearance, not the price, but the lady up front who said to give me a 30% discount on top of the price was fine with it when she saw the receipt. She said they were getting more models in and needed to get rid of the old ones.

I gave them all excellent marks and comments on the survey I took for them.

30% off is standard for display models. That's how I got my 42" Magnavox LCD last week for $350.

I always heard the stories of El Hoardo and thought they were just stories, until today.

I spotted El hoardo in a local Target today. He snatched up all 5 WD Element HD's, the 500gb model. I had checked the price just before he showed up and they were still priced at $48.xx

He loaded up his littlle hand basket and paid for them at the electronics counter.

I've got to say that the above artist rendering is near perfect. The only differrence being that this El Hoardo was foaming at the mouth and hunched over instead of walking tall & proud.

Maybe he was the Son of El Hoardo!?;)

More models in? I wonder if that means that they're going to have another Acer model, since I never did see an NCF tag go up for the monitor. It would be nice if they had a newer model with some of the same specs come in that I could swap out for prior to the end of the return period May 13th.;)

Yeah. That'd be nice for you since your's is messing up. My pair are fine so far.

I only saw our monitor model tagged as a repackage a.k.a. display model at one store. That one was at $111.xx

The 3 stores I was at today that had it for $40(one was OOS) all had it tagged as having a new low price of $160, and not tagged as being on clearance.

Boise, Idaho update

went into my local target today (eagle/chinden) we now have the new game setup that's going round. there were tons of clearance everywhere!!!! talking stacks of PS2 games. PSP games and Wii games. I don't own any of those systems so no biggie. A few 19" monitors, some TV's and blank media. only thing i found of interest was one of those motorola bluetooth headsets for $25 (99) but i was really hoping for oe of those clearance microsoft mice. no PS3 games or 360 games. :(

The monitor was $180 originally(and is $180 still on sites like Buy.com and I think NewEgg.com) and I kept an eye on it through two $20 price drops over the last year or so that they had it in stock at Target stores.

But I figured that this would happen. I buy it and it goes on friggin' clearance less than two months later. If I knew they'd let me do an instant rebuy, I'd return mine to get at least another $40 off of what I paid, since I know my local stores probably STILL have the fuckin' thing priced at the meager 30% off. I don't even have to check, since I know it's probably still that high. They never mark stuff down on a weekly basis to move it out or if they do that's the one week I don't check(like the copy of Demon's Souls I brought back from a further Target that was only to $39.98 on clearance).:bomb::roll:
I always heard the stories of El Hoardo and thought they were just stories, until today.

I spotted El hoardo in a local Target today. He snatched up all 5 WD Element HD's, the 500gb model. I had checked the price just before he showed up and they were still priced at $48.xx

He loaded up his littlle hand basket and paid for them at the electronics counter.

I've got to say that the above artist rendering is near perfect. The only differrence being that this El Hoardo was foaming at the mouth and hunched over instead of walking tall & proud.

Maybe he was the Son of El Hoardo!?;)
After hearing all these El Horado stories, I would have NO QUALMS with walking up to one of those fucks and snatching one of the drives. First off, it's not theft. He did not pay for them yet, so they're property of Target. Besides, will an employee really make you give ONE back when the person has FOUR left, and Target will still be making the same exact amount when you walk up to the register?

I know exactly how that is, the targets i go to... I was looking for a new harmony remote for a while, they go on clearance and they didnt drop lower than 70 usd, before they all sold out >.>

Saw Wii speak for 14.98 in pasadena, there was two ps2 last week at regular price and now they are gone!!! I was hoping to get one don't know if they went on clearance or not. =(

What's the worst they could do, hit me? I mean, that way, I'd get a hard drive and he'd get an assault charge, and possibly not able to horde the drives, so I'd be like a young, chubby Robin Hood. I really don't believe anybody has a need for 2.5 TB of space at this point in time, so all Horado would be out is an extra $15 profit or so.

The store is not going to side with you if you walk up any take something from another customers possesion, regardless of how many of said item they have.

It just doesn't work that way.

But why even risk the idiot smacking you in the first place? Once something is in someone's cart, even if they haven't paid for it yet, it's theirs in my opinion. If they put it back on the shelf, I'll go grab it if I really want it, but chances are they just saved me money anyway.

So thank you El Hoardo for saving me from spending MORE money I didn't really need to.

I don't know man, that would be kind of dickin'. It's not like the El Hoardo snatching up 16 Beatles RockBand sets. There are actually legitimate uses for multiple hard drives. Maybe he's a system builder, maybe he wants to set up a striped and mirrored RAID array and have an extra HDD of the same size and make on standby in case of failure.

It's easy to always assume the worst out of people, but five hard drives isn't a big stretch. With my last system build, I bought four in one shot (and they were on sale, and I did get the last one, and I would have been verily pissed off if someone tried to claim one of them).

Even if the man had a viable use for all FIVE external hard drives, I think someone else does have the right to take one of those FIVE drives if they want one. Really, it's not a dick move to make the hoarder think of his fellow man (by force).

I recommend you distract him by putting a red clearance sticker on a TV. Then when he's leering over it, salivating, you snatch 'n run. He won't be able to catch you. Too many years of hoarding, not enough years jogging.

2.5TB is paltry. People rip ISOs of Blu Rays, at 25GB a pop. Hard drives are cheap, so it's easy to fill them up!

So ok, come payday if someone comes up to you and says 'you don't really need $200 of your paycheck do you, since someone else can use it more than you', will you argue for what you rightfully worked to earn?

I thought so.

If someone wanted one of those external HDD's then they should've got there before the 'hoarder' did. Simple as that. Otherwise, they have no right to bitch about missing out on a deal.

I guarantee all the tough guys talking about snatching something out of El Hoardo's cart would run away with their tail between their legs if El Hoardo was a big dude who looked mean as hell.

Just because someone is being a douche doesn't give you the right to be a douche as well.

Never said I was a tough guy, now did I? I guess in this day and age, people don't understand the idea that giving up one hard drive and making somebody's day is better than wasting another $40 and being a dick. I have a 250 gig hard drive in my laptop and I'm nearing the end, because I've started to back up my collection. Could I use a 500 gig external HD? Hell yeah! Do I have $100 to throw down on one? Nope! So if I had the chance to get one for $40, and one fuckhead decided he could use FIVE more than I could use ONE, then I think I have a right to say how I feel. I guess if those drives go on sale, I'll hide one, because hiding isn't as bad as hording, it seems...

So did anyone actually talk to this "el hoardo" or are we all going on speculation and wet-dream fantasies about vigilante justice?

One man's "el hoardo" is another man's "frugal shopper buying gifts for friends and family." It's just easier to paint people as subhuman pieces of trash than it is to go up to them and talk to them, though. Cause we all know our shit don't ever stink.

^ exactly.

500 GBs is too small for me but if I found 5 1TB drives for say $40 each, I'd buy all of them up. Because I actually have friends and I know that they would love a 1TB drive for $40. Does that make me El Hoardo? No, it makes me a good friend.

Unless some guy has a cart full of shit and he's telling you he's selling on ebay for PROFIT, you have no right to assume anything.

I'm pretty sure if you go snatching shit out of people's carts, Target security is going to kick you out of the store and not sell you the harddrive, and they're just going to apologize and reward the person you took the item away from, El Hoardo or not, as a measure of good customer service.

The rule isn't "if they haven't paid for it yet, you can snatch it away." Can you imagine what a terrible shopping precedent that sets? Do you think any Target manager would tell you thats okay?

And if you touch the person you're trying to "liberate" an item from in the store? Watch El Hoardo be a super dick and press assault charges against you. Not that you wouldn't deserve the trouble.

But this talk is all moot because no one has the balls to start shit with El Hoardo or anyone else. No one is liberating any products from El Hoardo's cart, no one is taking any punches from El Hoardo, all anyone here ever does is watch El Hoardo scoop up the products while they stand their with their thumb up their ass because they were 5 minutes too late, then they come onto this thread to complain about it.
Bass pro the strike with rod for 360 for 10 bucks! So awesome, I had been wanting it for a long time.
Cool, I almost got that for $20 a few weeks ago, and now the store that had them are all gone./

I picked up a Polaroid 10" digital frame for $24.98, JBL Roxy Reference 430 headphones for $17.48 and a white kit kat for $.60

Same goes with the people who bitch about missing out on a coupon glitch or other deal due to 'omg hoarders'. You want the deal, you get there and get it. Don't wait for someone to be 'nice' and hand the shit to you.

Well, good sir... He had five 500 gig hard drives, right? 2.5 terabytes, right? Well, instead of having five HDs running out of five USB ports on your computer, why not buy a 2 terabyte hard drive and a 500 gig one for the same price, and save some room? Hell, $50 more, and you could have 3TB worth of storage... I see no need to have five separate HDs when, for the same price, you could get two... But, I guess his way works too. Oh well, in the end it wasn't me who got screwed, which seems like the same idea a lot of people have in this thread.

Oh, and maybe taking it out of his cart would get me kicked out of Target, but regardless, hording is pretty ridiculous, especially when somebody kindly asks you to give up just one.

I'm sure your Grandmother does not appreciate that.

Argument ending, I want a damn hard drive and I won't stop until my local Target puts them on clearance. I'll camp out in front of them until they hit the sweet spot and the take one... Because I'm a poorassgamer and can only afford one. Hope you're happy, El Horado! :bomb:

And people who bitch and moan about their Target not having anything on clearance. Also people who come here posting swears that would make a war time Marine blush about how X item is now lower than when someone bought it. He/she knows the rules of clearance items; buy it at a price you're comfy paying if it goes lower and you catch it good for you; if not STFU and move on. :)

Make sure to check the DPCI number since that's how I found out that the two monitors I bought yesterday were 75% off. They weren't marked, but when I punched in the DPCI # they came up as $40.

Touche. It's agreed then that all of this bitching about not getting deals is quite annoying.:D

I'm surprised anyone would hoard the HDs at $50 but if they dropped to $17 you can bet I'd have a cart of them. And probably have them hooked up by the end of the day. This isn't quite like buying up 16 Rock Bands-- there's no way you're not reselling (ok, yes, there's a chance you have 16 friends who are relying on YOU to buy them Rock Band, but I doubt it). But I'm a system admin where our budget is pretty much $0 so if I could get my hands on some easy backup drives/spare drives for lab computers/etc I'd grab them (and try to get reimbursed and when they laughed at me I'd just be out $17/each).

I think the fact the drives are on clearance is just starting a frenzy, though. I did manage to find one at $35 totally randomly a few weeks ago (before I think most stores started them on clearance)-- it just appeared. It's living as a nice backup drive for me at home now. Another store with 6 of them hasn't sold a one in weeks and they're still full price. I can only hope they don't start them off at $50 or else it sounds like they'll fly out of the door. :/
