Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Those Transcend USB drives are pretty crappy. While I don't mind that the x360 gave me a performance warning, the reality is that the write speeds are ridiculously slow when used on my PC. Can't complain for the price, but if you're looking for quality you may want to skip these.
Hmm, interesting. I'm no Target pro, by any means.. just a team member. Thought I'd shed some light on *what I knew* .. obviously there seem to be other circumstances surrounding the items in your situation. Nice to know though.
The only reason I know this is because I ended up with a "The beatings will continue until morale improves!" experience in trying to find Bangai-O Spirits on clearance in my area. Needless to say, I ended up in a fruitless search. That being said, if it's happened here, it could happen other places in the store. It just so happens that Bangai-O Spirits and Hello Kitty share the exact same shelf space, and for this very reason.

Wow. I got the 8GB drives and I formatted it and said it DID meet the MS performance standards. What size drive did you get? I did notice there were two styles of 4GB drive. Once was in a black shell with a color line where the USB cap was. The other style was in colored translucent plastic.
You're not entirely correct here, sir. I happen to know of a DPCI number that has two items sharing it, system-wide. Bangai-O Spirits and Hello Kitty both share the same DPCI number at all stores, and can throw inventory *way* off if you're looking for either one title or the other.

I brought this to the attention of Target corporate offices, and have no idea if anything will change as a result. However, it's worth noting that "every product has its own DPCI number unless there's a strange goof-up in inventory" is not true, based on my own personal experience.
Didn't Tony Hawk Motion and Uno also share a DCPI number? They were always the same sticker at every Target I went to.

Uno was worth... Tony Hawk not so much.

Well, you must've had a different 8gb drive model. I bought the 8gb model, and ran the test and it failed it. But what really bothered me was the slow write speeds when moving some stuff from my computer. It was really, really slow.
The drives feel pretty flimsy, and are black with a slight bit of purple around the USB part. Otherwise, they don't have a lot of ways of distinguishing them.

Hmmmm....

Well I think the H213H has the bmid as the rest of the model number for it and that's the one on clearance. If you have the receipt nearby what's the DPCI off of it?

Odd. That's what mine was as well. Model number is TS8GJFV30. They worked pretty fast when I did the transfer from a memory unit to USB. Guess either you got a bad one or I got a really good one. :bouncy:
Both are 080-00-0167
Hmmmm....that's the same one from mine. So it's weird, but I guess the newer one I saw the other day at the closer Target must be the replacement for this one then. It's weird that it'd be a downgrade from the prior model though(no HDMI).

I just tested this out too as originally I bought it in case I needed to transfer stuff from my 360. It didn't have any issues formatting or meeting the 360 tests.
Is Saints Row for $10 worth it? That's the only potential deal I really saw. (Otherwise just Wii shovelware, and some Platinum Hits still priced at $20.
The original is alright for $10, but the sequel was much better, even better than GTA IV IMO.

sorry guys no clearance update tonight. they cut everyone's hours again so i was stuck with stocking the whole night.

it's funny too because the overnight team is actually in charge of pulling the price changes...lol

nice; as always, the early birds get the worm. Bout to head out now...I've got some nice digital picture frames I've been tracking.
Dj hero and guitar hero 5 are both 19.98 at my target
Wow, if you have the $10 coupons from a few weeks ago, those things are steal.

anyone know if you can use ps2 Guitar hero 5 guitar on ps3?

I have rock band 2 and beatles

hoping to use guitar on those
all these instrument compatibility things are crazy!

Went to two Targets this morning, I don't even know why since my backlog is so ridiculous, and I haven't even had time to play any video games in a month because I've been getting ready for graduation. Either way, Target @ Greenbrier area had two things worth noting:

:360: Band Hero Bundle - $49.99 down from $199.99 - There was only one there, I already have the game for PS3 and got in on the cheap Beatles set for $62.xx so I passed.

also

Wow, amazed the store had not unloaded it last month when other stores did it. I have several RB drup sets, include the Beatles one, but I picked up the Band Hero Bundle anyway. Not only for the game, but I wanted the Guitar Hero specific drum set, as there are few achievements that you can't get with the RB drums and you need the GH drums. Plus, you can always get all but I think 3 of the songs exported, then resell the game, and maybe unload the other stuff on Craigslist.

I am having to do a warranty return on my Beatles drum set and I would have got the Band Hero bundle if it had been a PS3 version even though I already have the game just to get the Guitar Hero drums and an extra guitar controller for when friends come over. However, being for 360 killed it because I already have all my music games and instruments on PS3.

The weird thing is, I went to this same Target last month when they cleared out the :360: Band Hero bundles and the shelf was empty with a clearance tag besides the price tag. I asked the employee if they had any at that time and he checked, but they didn't. I show up today and there's just one sitting there.
Wow, if you have the $10 coupons from a few weeks ago, those things are steal.
What are these coupons of which you speak?
anyone know if you can use ps2 Guitar hero 5 guitar on ps3?

I have rock band 2 and beatles

hoping to use guitar on those
all these instrument compatibility things are crazy!
After much research years ago, I don't think this is possible. With the right adapter, you might be able to get some of the keys to work, but others like the wammy and tilt don't work. However, finding the right adapter is a crap shoot... not to mention that it would not add in a PS3 button.

In the April 11 newspaper there was a single sheet coupon of Activision games. Four seperate coupons, $10 off Band Hero Bundle, Guitar Hero 5 bundle, Tony Hawk Ride, and DJ Hero. I used the $10 DJ Hero coupons as well as another $5 off at Toys R Us that Sunday to pick up two copies of DJ Hero for $70 plus tax. I was able to unload one of the games on Half.com for $20, so I think I did pretty good. I already had Band Hero and Guitar Hero, and I had no interest in Tony Hawk Ride, so I've already trashed the coupons.

Dilemme, HD's are still $48.99 and there's only like 6 left at one of the Target's that I go to. Other one is sold out. What should I do!?

The drives are large (when compared to others in same range), and require an external power source. If you're desperate for a drive, then I'd bite. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense, as the price on drives in general is always dropping. I would pay $50.00 for a smaller drive (internal and external) that did not require an extra power source (personal opinion).

yeah, don't bother with it t $50.

500 GB for $50 is pretty near standard soon (esp non-portable) and you're not getting a great deal at all.

Off topic but...buy 5 Ben and Jerry's pints at $2.79 and get a $5 gift card! Get fat eating ice cream and fatter playing Tetris while doing it.

Games sections were pretty barren here. Did find some cheap ass target branded 5 shelf bookcases on clearance for $14.xx (50% off). DCPI is 249 05 0027. I use them to store guides and games. Good pickups for your man-cave or game storage areas. Quick and easy assembly too.

I remember someone posted a link to a scan of the coupon sheet, anybody still have that link?

Decided to drop by two Targets earlier. Nothing worth noting. DJ Hero for PS2 was $40 at one and $55 at the other. Oh well...maybe next week. Did find the 500 GB HDD but wasn't too interested since I didn't need another one yet.

Waiting for Beatles RB to hit 75% off whcih will be next monday I guess. Already keeping track of stock at three nearby Targets, gotta figure I'll score at at least one of them.

Alright, I'll just save up to get 1TB HD.

Saw the 500gb HDD for $34.XX..still hesitated..$18 seems much better, plus what's 500gb nowadays?? I did see a Motorola H375 BT Headset for $6.24 which I promptly grabbed! Its the same exact one I'm using now that I paid I think $70 for a couple years ago. I was quite happy w/ that, now I have a backup.

Got Beatles RB for 19.99 *sigh* couldn't pass it up because I know all the copies will be gone by next week thanks to some local Hoarders.

Got a copy with the free avatar t-shirt code. If anyone wants it, here it is. I used the Male code already.

I saw this evening:

TomTom One 130 GPS $64.98 (50%)
Nextar ME (generic) GPS still at $59.98 (50%)
Several other GPS on clearance for higher prices
That acoustic guitar that's been discussed in this thread (Fender Starcaster?) for 75% off, so $37.xx.
Not much in the way of video games. :360: Guitar Hero Van Halen at 30% off, if anyone is foolish enough to pay $41.98 for that particular fine game...

Picked up
NDS Petz Dogz Talent Show $7.48
NDS WireWay $4.98

Also noticed some Tekken 6 copies at retail at a store I've been skipping. Missed out last time. Got to make more of an effort this time, since I got the penny guide this weekend for that game. Now I play the waiting game.
