Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

That's why when I print mine out I cut the top off where the expiration date is :applause:
That's why when I print mine out I cut the top off where the expiration date is :applause:
I've considered that, but I can't bring myself to do it. Try to use an expired coupon = yes, omit the expiration date = no. We all have our lines. :)
Thanks for mentioning Fable II, picked up a copy during lunch. Tried the 1600pt coupon. It was accepted but the cashier reversed it after seeing the expiration date. Worth a shot.
S/he cared about the expiration date, but didn't care that it said Xbox hardware?
S/he cared about the expiration date, but didn't care that it said Xbox hardware?
If I'd cut off the expiration date, I'm sure he would have cared about the 'hardware' text. He seemed pretty attentive (after he rang up the coupon), so I'm assuming he just saw the expiration date first. Bought the game anyhow...no harm, no foul.

Does that "$10 off two games" still work? I know it expired about 3 weeks ago but I know that it worked the week after it expired.

edit: I'll probably try to use the Xbox hardware coupon instead.

:ds: Uno/Skip-Bo/Uno Free Fall was $3.74 today. They had several copies as well as an actual price tag and hook for it. I assume they're Xmas bargain games left over from the holidays.

For $4, I couldn't pass up Uno and Skip-bo with local wireless card play.

Found two copies of Fable 2 for $7.48 at the Target in Charleston, SC.
I find it out though because I was there last week and they didn't have any copies. oh well! Picked them up for two friends.
I didn't find any games on clearance at Springfield, IL. (1-13-09) Sheesh!
you won't find anything decent. there is an ebay horder working at Target there. I actually had a chance to talk him up one afternoon after class. He was telling me how he held the games in the back until they drop as low as possible. Then proceeds to sell them on ebay for twice sometimes three times what he paid.

I wanted to smack the living hell out of him.

Did you reply "Cool story, bro" ?

Not to stir some ethical debate but that's sort of messed up. He's gaming Target and customers like you. Why should he have the right to hide clearance games in the back until they drop to $7 bucks or whatever when you or someone else might value them as a purchase at a higher price? Is it because he works a minimum wage job at Target? Well, that's his choice, but shouldn't give him the right to steal/hide merchandise/etc. I'm not going to say be a tattle-tell and go find a manager and inform him or her, but both you/the consumer and Target benefit if this guy doesn't get to be an asshat.

I have to agree. You should report this guy, or at least report the behavior and let the store work it out. What he is doing is literally stealing from the company (intentionally causing them to lose money in the form of missed sales at a higher price for his own financial gain).

Just picked up a copy of Fable 2 (standard edition) for $7.48 at a Target in Madison Heights, MI. They had at least 5 left and were all in the section for their lower price games, not on an actual clearance rack.

My target just had 20+ copies of Guitar Hero for DS. the normal electronics end cap is Guitar Hero and Stuff from the "health and beauty" section in the next isle.

They are also being stingy on the Toy clearance price drops. Still holding at 50% and the isles are still mostly filled. Last year seems like it went 30, then 75% within a week.

Actually yeah, if there's a Target employee stashing stuff away until it hits low as possible before buying it that could get whoever it is fired.
I so want that first tv stand listed. Guess I need to go to target
Good luck finding these. I will join the search as well, but when I plugged in the ASIN numbers for each TV stand into the River North Design Target inventory search tool,

http://services.rivernorthdesign.com/target/

I got out-of-stock indications for my zip code as well as for zip codes of my family and sibs.

Are the price drops no longer on Monday? I've gone three times in the past couple week and nothing has moved. :bomb:

Its completely against target policy to hide games for any duration of time ESPECIALLY clearance. He'd be fired on the spot if a manager knew. I got a verbal warning from mine cause I put godfather 2 in a drawer at the start of my shift so i could buy it on break 2 hours later (since you cant buy things on shift) and not even kidding the dude wanted to fire me because "everyone has to have the same opportunity to buy it". Im not perfect myself since I find non marked clearance games all the time and neglect to tell someone about it but hoarding in the back is pretty messed up, if you dont want to flat out tell on him another option is that little survey you can fill out on the receipt cause that stuff actually comes back to them.

Or if you have a friend that works there, have them call up the employee number for reporting fraud. That way they guy gets it, and your buddy gets a reward :bouncy:
Saw Godfather 2 for $15 at the Paramus, NJ. There were at least 15+ copies of it.
They also had about 3 copies of Fable II for $7.48 without sticker in the regular section that isn't in the glass cases there.

If that Godfather II game is any indication, it seems like Target has not been discounting any games lately. The game has been $15 for several weeks now.

The video game clearance section @ my local Target is EMPTY. Well, they had 15 copies of GH for the DS, 3 :360 games and 1 :pS3: game. This is a huge change from a month ago - they still had decent quantities of everything then.
I have to agree. You should report this guy, or at least report the behavior and let the store work it out. What he is doing is literally stealing from the company (intentionally causing them to lose money in the form of missed sales at a higher price for his own financial gain).
the only thing is that if he has been doing this for awhile then its my word vs his and I am sure that he has some place to hide them that is technically on the sales floor but not accessible to normal customers. like hiding them in the locked case five aisle over. plus its my word against his, this is something he told me around the end of november.

also remember that they advertised clearance games recently in the weekly ad, this could add to the reason they are out of clearance games.

It's not really your word against his, it's more making them aware of the situation. Loss prevention will likely keep an eye on him and see if it's still happening. (Target has loss prevention I assume.)

I would report him. I despise hoarders, especially if they work there and get an insane advantage over regular shoppers.

Target does. I think they still call them 'assets protection'. Not too sure as I stopped working there after I graduated from college over 2 years ago (after 7+ years working at my store )

The only thing i have seen at any of the San diego area targets i have been to is

:360: Godfother 2 14.98
:360: Bionic Commando 29.98

That it and oh so many copies of bionic commando. y has that came not come down in three months. :whee:

Most of the cameras in the store are in electronics and their stockroom, they could reel back the tape, also regardless of whether its on the sales floor or not any attempt to give himself an unfair advantage is grounds for dismissal.

Also about a week ago i checked my PDA at my store for fable 2 and got 0's across the board for the closest 15 stores, I happened to stop in an out of the way one yesterday and found 3 copies for 7.xx. I then checked my PDA again today and 5 stores in my are generated 2-5 copies each, so if your looking for it theres hope.

All 4 of the local stores have been picked pretty clean since that 'advertised' clearence sale after christmas. I've seen a couple copies of Battalion Wars II for $24.xx, and Bionic Commando for $29.xx but that's it. I checked one today and they hadn't added anything new yet.

Non VG update:
My Target just had an additional drop on their Xmas toy stock, all clearance toys are now 75% off. Made off with $400 worth of toys, for the little one, for only $100. And like always YMMV.

I had to a double-take when I saw :ps3: Transformers: The Game for $14.98. I thought it was part 2 thinking how could there by any copies of part one this late in the game?! but I already have it on X360.

:ps3: The Incredible Hulk - $9.98 (last copy, i finally picked it up :) )
:ps3: Smackdown 2008 - $14.98
:360: Cars (Sequel) - $19.98

Everything else holding steady, stupid Bionic Commando for $30, Guitar Hero DS at $42. Hoping that wrestling game drops to $7.48 to go w/ my 2009 CE I ordered..

there were also a ton of copies of DJ Hero, I'm too lazy to do the math of what the first drop will be ($75?) but if it survives a couple of drops, I know where I'll get that on the cheap!

Those of you in the Oklahoma City/Norman, OK area looking for Fable 2 at $7.48 -- Check any OKC area Target, EXCEPT Norman Super Target. Each Target in OKC area has at least 2 Fable 2 in stock. I checked earlier today at work.

went to the target in holyoke ma. most of the titles did not scan at a clearance price. the titles that did scan were of course not in store will move on to hadley
I so want that first tv stand listed. Guess I need to go to target
For 9.xx, you will not be disappointed. It's very sturdy and I love the way all my a/v components and consoles have open spaces for ventilation.

Norman Super Target has Gold's Gym Workout for Wii, $4.98. That's it, other than 10 copies of PS3 WWE Legends of Wrasslemania at $19.98. :)

my son has one of those. performance is solid. load times arent ridiculous.
theyre $120 at costco I think.
I saw a returned Vizio Bluray player 008-06-1055 .

Looks like an onlline return .
Does anybody know if the XBOX 1600 pt coupon still works with clearance games???

Curious because I might have to make a trip if it does...
