HoN is a lot less forgiving than LoL, in terms of both gameplay and the community. I've also felt that the skill ceiling is much higher in HoN, and that the people that play LoL are generally worse. Definitely worth $10 as I feel the devs care alot about the game and feel like its more balanced...
