Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!​

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. ​

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks! ​

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.​

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:​
Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.​

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:​

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts. ​

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.​

Numbers in purple are DPCI #'s, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.​

Numbers in orange are online item #'s.​

I'm a little torn on this comment, I wanted to shoot him down at first and then I thought of all the stuff I bought at Kmart lately and he may have a point.
Target is newer things more frequently and more orderly, but Kmart stuff is significantly more extreme and because they move so little merchandise they often have large amounts across a broad spectrum.
Also, Kmart will have departments on sale for extra savings (+50%); gaming, toys etc. While Target it is per item.

I know, that is what makes it so hilarious. I really don't care if they ever lower it as I already have 100% the game and most of the DLC. I root more for it not to be lowered or sold now.
 
So I bought 2 $50 PSN cards on clearance for $30.... was excited.

BUT, got home and it says "cannot add funds to wallet"

They scanned the "as is" barcode.... Did they not activate the cards?
how am I going to go back, having already scratched them off, and tell them they aren't activated? Do they have a way of seeing that they weren't activated yet?

Check the receipt over carefully, they usually say "activated" somewhere on it I've seen from personal experience. That said, I've had to wait 4-24hrs after buying a card in-store before.

If they only scanned the As-Is sticker, make sure it's the same barcode from card?

Something like that happened to me a few years back. I was playing one of those free MMORPG games online and I wanted some cash shop crap so I bought one of those point cards from Target. Tried it out when I got home, but I kept getting an invalid error. I went back to the store and told the customer service employee that it didn't work. IIRC they scanned my receipt, scanned the point card, did something on the computer, put some sticker tag on it and gave my money back no problem.
 
I think this is a one off, maybe it is YMMV, but I was in the target in Marlborough, MA at 605 Boston Post Rd. There was an end cap in the toy section of maybe a hundred Nyko Wii Wands (Wii controller) for $3.26 "as is". There were pink, clear, black and white controllers. They also had the Nyko Wii Wand+ (the wii motion plus equivalent) for $5.06 "as is"(only in black and maybe 20-30 of those). I took a picture, but I can't figure out how to attach it.

nothing that looks like a dcpi and a label covering up the upc.

receipt says 207-00-0000 for both.

What about online price matching?

All online pricing, including Target.com, is excluded from our price matching policy, as well as online retail promotions or products advertised on another company's web or mobile sites.

didn't bother scanning them since I was in a hurry.

I did pick up Brutal Legends Strategy guide for $6.26. The cover has some tears in it, but the pullout poster is still intact and the interior is fine. I'll be using this whenever I get to the actual game that's sitting in my backlog.

Actually, last October/November was very good with the Target clearance. I can remember a lot of people on here getting worried that the bountiful clearance games would disappear on BF at 50% off or so, but surprisingly a lot of them lasted past BF.

Anyone tried buying three of the same clearance game with the b2g1 sale? The ad specifically states they have to be different, but if they ring up the cashier almost certainly won't notice/do anything.

I'll probably try tomorrow. Historically, if they didn't specify 'games 14.99 and up' it worked fine. Additionally, a couple times the b2g1 calculated the clearance game as its original non-clearance price when determining which game is free. I think that was fixed a while back though.

Was at target today so I thought I would check the in store price of this. Unfortunately it rang up at $29.99. Will go back Nov 1st when new PM policy kicks in.
 
Target should start matching their own online prices as well, but clearance has always been a store by store thing. I don't see them matching it.
 
At the risk of being strung upside down by my toes, can I go off topic slightly and ask if anyone (perhaps a team member on here?) knows if Target is getting the new IPADs on Friday? I have a 5% coupon that expires on Sunday that I would like to use on the new model..

Don't know if that means online, in store, or both... but you have a decent chance...

Damn nice score. I wouldn't mind finding one for backup since I got a good size UMD collection. Hope I can find one but not counting on it.
 
Ive been looking every wear for a PSP for my girlfriend for xmas but no luck finding one in my price range im willing to pay. Wish I could have gotten one of those for around 40. Hell I would have paid 60 for it.

Just in case anyone is interested, my Target had a sign up saying that they would have the new IPADs at 8am on Friday. I asked the associate about how many he was expecting, and he said if it was like the last release, it will be 1-2 for each model.

I bought 9 of the same clearance game last night and 3 came up as free so I can assure you that it should work on duplicates. Got 9 copies of Kingdom Hearts 3D - Dream Drop Distance (3DS) for only $45.36 plus tax. (about $5 each) :hot:
Now I know you wont believe me but I can post pics later.

I totally forgot the different titles requirement when this deal was first posted on CAG, but then again I also forgot that B2G1 is this week and that it would sweeten the deal of KH 3DS for only $7.56 each until I saw the signs and asked electronics guy if the sale included clearance items.

Went by Target today.....

Came home with nothing.

I thought the point of a "Clearance" section was for the items to actually be on "Clearance" ie less than their original retail price.

Or am I missing something?

They're holding clearance stock for BF ... that way the masses will feel like winners when Target gives a minimal discount on their clearance stock and you get to compete with hundreds of other people for D grade games at 3:30 am in the morning. ;-)
 
took advantage of the B2G1 and a return rebuy to get
Madden 12 (360) 8.98
Madden 12 (wii) 8.98 and
PES 2013 (ps3) 17.98

...then I returned the madden wii so I could get 6.74 return value. Somehow I ended getting the full 8.98 value back on it though...not sure how...so I guess I ended up getting the 360 madden for free...?

Not true. Most of the time there are a handful of games that are consistent across the nation. Agreed that a good amount is YMMV though.

havent been keeping up alot with the target thread since my localest store sucks ALOT at clearance stuff.

However, i hate how the item search changed from using the DPCI. Trying to find deathly hallows ultimate and there is no listing online. Pretty lame
