Atlus just announced that Persona 3 FES (the expansion disc) is coming out here in April as a standalone game that includes the original Persona 3, so you might want to hold off on getting Persona 3 at all until then. Plus, it's only going to be $30...

Point cards aren't activated by the retail store, not sure why MS told you that. The codes are preregistered with Microsoft. If the number hadn't been revealed behind the scratch off material then it should be valid.

The game has been out since Thursday. The ship date was pushed up to 1/30 a couple weeks ago (the game was never street dated) so it should be out everywhere.

I got mine in the mail today much to my surprise. They sent it overnight delivery. Not too shabby. It originally had a shipping date of like the 18th and a delivery date of the 24th. I'm glad it came early because my current subscription expires the 22nd.

Same reason. There are dozens of different places that'll sell you the new Spider-Man or Pirates flick when it hits the shelves. That's a major draw to get people into the store so they all need to keep their price as low as possible to make sure people come to them and not their competitor...

Gamestop will match advertised prices (like if Circuit City is selling Call of Duty 4 for $39.99) but they won't honor BxGx free sales.

If you're going to buy a game at Gamestop anyway, why not just reserve it? I can understand the hate toward the Stop (I won't shop there myself) but if you do shop there, it's kind of silly not to pre-order. Then you don't have to worry about them being sold out or getting a gutted copy.
