I'm still amazed how well the games clean up; really makes it hard to go back to the non X supported BC titles.
haha, ok, this is really good.
Joke post?
Offcourse. The 4K image just gets downsampled again. :)Do you still get x enhancements if you're on a 1080p tv with backwards compatibility games?
I chuckled, as a PC gamer myself too, though...you have to put out quite a bit more money for 4k gaming in general.
It doesn't have games.. that's a new one.You have to put out a lot of money even for 60 / 1080p gaming (high/ultra in open world games) . XBOX ONE X is a great machine , it only lacks an identity at the moment because it doesn't have games for now .
Sorry just someone who uses the ps4 pro and don't have a x yet I'm waiting to see where the 1080p users get screwed over. So far looks like nothing yet which makes me happyOffcourse. The 4K image just gets downsampled again. :)
So 720p --> 4K --> 1080p haha.
And to think that Rockstar is charging 39.99 for what essentially is a 4k version of the 360 LA Noire game...while MS is doing the same but giving it gamers for free.It's like getting free remasters. It's amazing. Gears 3 is mind-blowing, it just looks stunning in 4K. The IQ is pristine and the models and textures really come to life allowing the original artwork to shine through. But X even makes Xbox OG games look fantastic - Ninja Gaiden Black!

I can't play any of the games featured in this video on my PS4.
No, Microsoft's BC team does it. Phil tweeted the other day that a bit of work has to go in to these, it's not just a case of flicking a 4K switch.
You didn't say new games when I quoted your post. You went back and edited it afterwards! And I don't see what relevance that has to with these enhanced BC games anyway.I said new games . You can't sell huge numbers of consoles with old games of course .
I dunno, Catalyst features some incredible lighting, SSR and post effects. At 4K60, it's a sight to behold. The original still looks great too, of course.Mirror's Edge on PC always looked better than Catalyst. They changed the art style a bit and lost the clean look from the original.
Damn, that's still really impressive though. I figured it wasn't just a flick of a switch considering the texture and foliage improvements with Halo 3.No, Microsoft's BC team does it. Phil tweeted the other day that a bit of work has to go in to these, it's not just a case of flicking a 4K switch.

What's their motivation to work so hard on something like this though? I appreciate what they're doing, but Nintendo and Sony would be charging people extra for something like this. How is this profitable to them?
It's great for the platform and ecosystem, and is part of what Phil calls the 'forward compatibility' strategy, where games you buy now will be compatible and look better on future hardware.Damn, that's still really impressive though. The improvements likely spark buys and re-buys. I've sold most of these games from the 360 days, but looking at this stuff? I'd be willing to buy again, especially something like FO3, which I have the damnedest time getting to run and be stable on my PC.Damn, that's still really impressive though. Well Yeah in that it's a reference to the old Xbox slogan.
